Great product

I recently bought this product to upgrade over 20 year old Generac portable generator. So far I am very impressed with the push button start option and the ability to use propane as well. I did have to call customer service, and they responded to my question in a very quick manner. I will be hiring a electrician to install a manual transfer switch on my house electrical panel, but for now it is working great using extension cords.

Versatile Power

I was looking for the ideal machine to use both short term and for extended periods during power outages. Being able to use both propane and regular gasoline was another option I was looking for. After watching several reviews, I believe I made the best choice.

Works Great

I ordered this generator 3 weeks ago. It was easy to assemble the wheels and feet and plugged in the battery. I added the oil and some gasoline and pushed the start button and it started first time! Everything works as advertised. It is easy to roll out of my garage when I want to use it

Easy to use

I have only owned this a week, and it is my first generator. The setup was easy (feet, wheels, oil, battery hookup). I added gas and it started up without a problem. I ran a large air compressor as a test and it powered it fine. I intend to install a 50 Watt inlet box on the house to power a 1.5 ton AC unit and 2 refrigerators. It’s early going, but great so fat

Provides great options!

We bought this a month ago after a recommendation from a friend who had the same model and was very happy with it. We have an 1800 square foot home and with an electrician have wired it so all we have to do is flip a switch if we have a power outage. It is powerful enough to run everything including the water heater, except the range and air conditioner.

Wow! Great value for the price

I could not be more pleased with my Westinghouse 9500DF generator. I looked at a lot of top brands but this generator has every feature that I wanted and more. The remote start is the icing on the cake. It's easy to operate if you read the instructions carefully. It even includes its own oil and oil spout so that you don't spill the oil when filling it. As for noise level, I measured it at 82.5 decibels from ten feet away, but only 58 decibels from inside my home. It started immediately when I first used it. Although it weighs over 200 pounds the single piece handle makes it very easy to move around. One hint: save the white closed cell foam pad that is in the shipping carton. Place it under the unit when you turn it on its side to assemble the wheels and mounting feet. That will prevent the unit when getting scratches on it. Also, when you initially fill the oil, the oil level on the dipstick will barely touch the hash mark at the low end of the dipstick. Don't worry, it's full. Once to start the engine the oil will rise to the top of the dipstick.

Easy setup and starting

We just had a huge storm that knocked out power for 3 days. I decided I am not going through that again. I did a bunch of research and for the price point this is the best option for a lot of power 9500 - 12500 watts. Ill be able to run most everything should we lose power again. Its a solid unit and setup up to run was a matter of 30 minutes.

Excellent backup power source

I bought this product after our second extended power outage in 2 years. It is big enough to power of the things in my house and portable enough to be able to use elsewhere if needed. Looking forward to purchasing a second to make a complete backup power system for my house

Compact, easy to handle, good specifications

The machine arrived in a very beaten-up box (probably outside the control of tthe manufacturer) but seemed to be undamaged. However, the inside of the box was saturated with crankcase oil., requiring a lot of cleanup before assembly of the wheels and testing. I found the manual to be rather poorly organized, although complete enough. A table of specifications would be nice---the crankcase capacity is mentioned only as an aside to the oil change procedure on page 23, although filling with the (included) oil should be one of the very first steps. And the crankcase calls for 1.2 quarts of oil, so the oil it was shipped with was not enough for a first fill! This is not the machine for someone innocent of engine maintenance!

Great Value!

This is the 2nd Westinghouse generator that I have purchased. My first generator was the WGen9500 without dual fuel capability. I used that generator for a year and decided I really wanted the dual fuel model. These generators have a lot of features for the money; especially power for the price. I wanted the 50 amp plug to use for home back up power. The only disappointment I have about these generators is the THD rating: Total Harmonic Distortion is 23%. This rating is noticeably higher than most other brands I have had in the past. Overall, the generator is a great value and I was pleased with it enough to buy another. This generator will power most everything I need in my home during an outage; 2 refrigerators, 2 portable a/c's, a window a/c; home furnace. lights and some kitchen appliances. The remote start feature is actually quite handy too.
