Ease of set up

I cannot rate the performance of generator as I have not yet fired it up and tested however, the ease of set up was amazing. I am a single woman and was able to follow the instructions and get wheels and base installed in a matter of 10 minutes. I will be firing it up tomorrow to see how it actually works, but was pleasantly surprised that I was able to set up on my own. Living in south florida and with the predictions of upcoming hurricane season, I wanted a backup generator to my generator. Now I have two in my garage and hopefully never have to use either, but it’s definitely peace of mind.

So far, VERY happy.

I bought this as a backup generator as we seem to lose power at least once a year and my little 2k generator just isn't cutting it for the power I actually need. I like that it's dual fuel but I plan on using LP only as I hate having to do the maintenance with running gasoline engines. Right out of the box, the wheels and riser feet were simple to install. Followed the instruction manual to get it running ready, filled oil and started right up off a 30lb LP tank. While this will hopefully be used sparingly when the power is out, my review is based off an initial test run. I don't foresee this generator getting heavy use but I feel so much more comfortable having an option for power, when we lose ours in the increasing storm outages in our area. Next up is to build an outside housing, install a transfer switch and get a couple 100lb LP tanks and I should be more than ready for any lengthy outage. The remote start will become a nice feature at that point and my wife will even be able to get it up and running, if I weren't home to do so. If anything changes down the road, I'll update my review.

perfect for home use

Bought this as a house backup generator. Able to connect to my large propane tank that supplies my house. Waiting for electrician to wire 50 amp box to supply gen power to my electrical panel. Gen starts easily and runs smoothly on propane. Highly recommend.

Runs fine, easy to start

Haven't had to use it for a power outage as of yet but during the test phase it worked great, remote start/stop worked and push button start worked. Only tested it with propane, I will avoid using gas at all costs. Already got a friend to buy the smaller model.

Perfect Size Generator for Power Outages

I bought this generator after a 4 day power outage after hurricane Helene. Not having a generator caused us to lose refrigerator contents and partial freezer contents. Living on the coast a generator is a neccesity with the frequent storms and high winds. The power will go out and be off for hours or for days. The purchase of a generator helps insure loss of food and keeps the AC running in the summer heat & humidity. The 9500/12500 size Westinghouse generator will run on dual fuel which is a life saver during extended outage. Gas stations can’t dispense gas without power, so the dual fuel can save you a lot of frustration. Westinghouse was my choice because of their high rating & reputation.

Ease of Use

I am extremely pleased with my new Westinghouse Generator that I recently purchased. Although a well built rugged machine, the controls are easily understandable. The wheels are not flimsy like a lot of other generators. I chose the dual fuel model in case gasoline becomes difficult to find. I like the idea of dust covers on the receptacles. Compared to other companies, this generator gives a lot of bang for your buck!

Qiet and Powerful

Bought this generator after a lengthy power outage in January, I power it through propane. Surprisingly quiet and can light most of my house's essential items. It is easy to move around (and was easy to assemble). Very sturdy item that I got at a great price. Looking for it to last many many years

So far; everything's good

Have heard great things about this Westinghouse Wgen9500 series of generators; and so far this appears to be true, but I am only still in the early "break-in" phase....and it has not been put to the test. Can not say the same about the choice of shipping companies; as delivery was several days after stated date; and the item had obviously been mishandled, and even stood on end; as the bottle of oil had been crushed with over half leaking out all over the contents in the box in that end.....not across the bottom of the box where you would expect it to be if sitting on the base as it should be.

Fully loaded and ready to go

Love that the generator comes with things that you have to buy if you go with a different brand--battery, remote starter key fob, battery charger, oil, funnel, wheel kit. It was pretty much plug and play to get this thing fired up and ready to go. Now I sit patiently and wait for a black out.

So far I am happy with my choice.

I just got the generator today. I assembled the loose items (wheels and feet) and used the supplied funnel to add the oil that was also supplied. They also send a wrench to use to assemble the loose items and to use for changing the oil. The battery was not charged enough to start the generator so I plugged up the trickle charger and waited about an hour. I had already added gas and made sure the fuel was turned on. When I tried to start it using gas for the fuel source it would not start. The battery died from attempting to start it so I tried using the pull start. I pulled until I got tired and then hooked the trickle charger back up. A little while later I hooked up a propane tank and switched the fuel selector and hit the start button and it started right up. I am going to let it run for a little while so I can get a better charge in the battery and then see if I can get it running on gas. The generator looks very well built and I am excited to be able use it when I need it. Luckily I don't need it right now so I have time and patience to figure out what the issue is with running on gas.
