We bought this a month ago after a recommendation from a friend who had the same model and was very happy with it. We have an 1800 square foot home and with an electrician have wired it so all we have to do is flip a switch if we have a power outage. It is powerful enough to run everything including the water heater, except the range and air conditioner.

The generator is extremely well made and was recommended that we try this one as a first time buyer. Really enjoy the quick start instructions. But maybe to include a little preface to ensure the fuel switch is on would be helpful. It’s not super loud. But I would hope the get one a little quieter if possible in the future. Love the key fob for ease of turning it on and off.

Awesome generator. It is loaded with features. Not much assembly required. Just pop on 2 wheels and bolt on the two legs and you're good to go. Filled with oil and put in some gas and it cranked up on the 2nd crank using the wireless fob. Not nearly as loud as I thought it would be. Powered up a few small electronics then I tried my miter saw. No problems!

After alot of research,I decided that the Wgen9500df was the generator for me. After a bad storm a couple of weeks ago that took out power in most of our county. I went and purchased the supplies to hook up to our house. Let’s just say it performed flawless. It ran everything in our house for several days. No more worries about power outages ever again. I am so glad that I waited to get a Westinghouse product. I give it 5 stars. Great job Westinghouse. You lived up to your reputation.

Purchased this unit to keep the house going (including well pump) during our multiple power outages every winter. High power with dual fuel was key for us, this unit delivers. Really like the easy startup, battery arrived fully charged ready to go, easy assembly. The special funnel and exactly the right amount of oil were nice to find in the box. I had to have 14-50R to connect to my transfer switch, great combination of power, flexibility and value.

For a first time generator user I was amazed on how easy it was to set up. Very easy instructions to follow. After it was all set up the generator started right up without any complications. A great product that we are extremely pleased with purchasing!

I bought this unit a couple of months ago and just got around to having an electrician wire the house. Shortly after the unit arrived in early March I started it up using propane (after reading the manual) and it ran beautifully. Today when I tried to start it for the electrician it would not start on propane...crazy. I put gas in it which I didn't want to do. It started and ran on gas and it ran my whole house. The disappointing thing is that I called the service hotline on a Saturday morning to ask someone for help. It was an answering service and they said that someone would call me during normal business hours next week. So, if there was an emergency and you needed to use your generator on the weekend there would be no assistance. The woman on the phone said they would give me the nearest service location to take it to. So beware because I would consider this a major missing link in their system. Maybe others are the same. I'll see what happens next week...when I'm at my full time residence...200 miles from the generator.

I'm very happy with my generator, arrived in good condition, with all manuals and accessories. To remove the generator, I cut along the bottom of the box on all 4 sides and lifted straight up. After connecting the two halves of the battery cables together, adding oil and the propane cable to the tank, it was ready to start. Turn the knob to propane, engine control switch to run and used the remote start (already programmed). It started on the 2nd attempt. Let it run for 5 min and turned off the propane as recommended. My electrician commented it wasn't as loud as he expected. Not very noticeable from inside my house either. When I tried to connect the 50 amp cable I purchased separately (Conntek 15306), this was problematic since the elbow connector was blocked by the wheel. I uploaded a photo showing the issue. I was forced to prop up the frame on a modified 2x4 and remove the wheel. With the cable connected to the generator, I connected the other end to my home power inlet. Started up the generator, turned on the main breaker and turned all the switches on my transfer switch from utility to generator. Forgot to mention I also needed to connect a ground cable to the frame which was recommended by my electrican. The 9500DF powered 10 circuits with power to spare. I was instructed to be careful running more than two appliances at the same time and watch the meter on my transfer switch to ensure both sides (5+5) were somewhat balanced. Other than the the issue with the wheel, which can probably be avoided by choosing a different type of cable connector, this is a 5 star product that I can rely on in an emergency. I would recommend getting a 2 stage propane regulator cable so you can swap out the empty tank without turning off the generator.

I bought this generator first because it was American made and dual fuel which gives me twice the runtime without refueling since I can switch fuels gasoline and propane on the fly. This is very easy to do especially for my wife when I am not at home. The remote start feature is great for her on a cold day when all she has to do is flip one switch to use the other fuel

It took me less than thirty minutes to unbox the generator, install the wheels and feet, fill the engine with the included oil, using the included funnel, connect the battery and get it started and running on propane. Excellent manual and assembly instructions! The control panel is easy to work with and understand. Everything is easily accessible on the unit. I will use this as standby for our home connecting it to our primary control panel. Very pleased with the purchase!
