Will be a life saver

We have be contemplating getting a generator for a couple years now. Well the time came. After this last TX ice storm and not having power for 36 hours we finally did it. Ordering was easy and shipping was super fast. We were originally told we would get it around the 21st. We got it yesterday to our surprise. Husband already started it up and it's ready to go. It will be a life saver the next time a big storm comes thru.

Great Generator

I purchased over a week ago. It came package very well. It only took a couple of minutes to attach the wheels. I put in some oil and gas and the generator fired up immediately. I was surprised that the generator was not as loud as I thought it would be. I have a pressure washer that is louder than this generator. I haven't got to use it yet in a storm, but it appears to be built very well. I'm sure it will work fine.

Westinghouse portable Generator

My daugther bought this for us. Since my husband is on oxygen. And with winter storms or hurricane there are poswer outage. So this will help when the power is out. It was very easy to assemble and the remote starter is wonderful especially for 2 elderly people.

Great Features

Haven't had to use it yet but I am happy with it so far. I just had an electrician install the new box and plug and it will power most of my first floor and basement, which is more than I could have imagined. I like the dual fuel option and plan to run it on propane since there is a little less maintenance involved and don't have to worry about gasoline getting old. I did a quick 'dry run' and it is easy to start, and use. The remote will certainly come in handy when it is cold and wet out! Seven though it is heavy, the handle and wheels make it relatively easy to maneuver. So far I love it.

Impressed with Features/Quality

I've lost power for an extended time during each of the last several years. So this was my year to buy a generator. After comparing numerous brands, I chose the Westinghouse because of its quality and features. And I'm glad I did; I'm really impressed since receiving mine. There are the two options for fuel, several options for power output (20A,30A,50A) and my favorite - options for starting: Manual pull-start, Electric start from the front panel and Remote-Start using a key-fob. Being able to start the generator from inside the house is pretty sweet. Since my purchase was late in the season, I've not put a lot of runtime on it. But the noise-level is acceptable and the performance is good. It's important to me that the fuel tank is solid metal. That was rather hard to find. I guess the only real negative is that the propane connection is at the front and points forward, leaving the hose to stick straight out from the front of the unit. The manual is rather detailed. You can download/view it on the Westinghouse website. Did I mention I've been impressed?

Great backup power generator!

This generator is extremely flexible and of good quality. It was recommended by my electrician as a backup source of power for my 2-story house. The setup was perfect to power my house completely in case of power loss. I’ve had many generators and this is by far the best one!

HEAVY DUTY WITH ATTRACTIVE FEATURES

THIS IS A PROBABLY A LIFETIME UNIT IF YOU MAINTAIN IT WELL. EASILY WILL POWER ALL MY MEDIUM SIZE HOUSE. LOVE THE DUAL FUEL FEATURE. IT EASILY SWITCHES FROM LP TO GASOLINE WITH JUST A TAD OF STUTTER. NOTHING COMPLICATED. KEY FOB IS A GREAT FEATURE.

Easy setup and starting

We just had a huge storm that knocked out power for 3 days. I decided I am not going through that again. I did a bunch of research and for the price point this is the best option for a lot of power 9500 - 12500 watts. Ill be able to run most everything should we lose power again. Its a solid unit and setup up to run was a matter of 30 minutes.

It has paid for itself

Great generator if you have propane and your power goes out for days at a time. Hooked directly to my propane and plugged in the battery tender all to a generlink 50 amp on the house. Powers everything, and you don't have to worry about back feeding the pole when the power comes back on, make sure you cover if you leave outside, for me it's great.

Powerful and convenient with two caveats

As a generator, this is a fantastic specimen. It is powerful, has all the features I want, and likely more capabilities than I will use. It is heavy-duty, yet portable. Two issues I have noticed: 1) the fuel gauge is not accurate. It has a capacity of 6.6 gallons, and I put in over 3 gallons, but the needle did not move. Perhaps this is purposely designed so that people do not have a false sense of security? I do not know, but I would prefer an accurate gauge. 2) I am unable to manually start this monster! The push-button and remote start both work beautifully, but I cannot get enough oomph to pull-start it. I am small (5’9”, 150#) but not weak (20+ years in construction and as a firefighter), and have always been able to pull-start anything. So I am undecided on whether I would actually buy this again, but I am pleased to have it just the same. Perhaps these issues are quirks with my unit, but perhaps not. I certainly do not regret the purchase.
