Bought this as a whole house backup. It should power just about everything minus the AC units unless I run them by themselves. Of note, the 50 Amp plug is protected by a 30 Amp CB so it is limited to 30 amps maximum output at 240 volts. The running amps is less. To get the most out of the generator for a whole house system you will need to use both the 30 amp and 50 amp plugs wired to either separate panels or separate sides of your house CB load panel. If this doesn't make sense to you then you want to have an electrician do the wiring.

We wanted something that fit the budget a little better than an automatic whole house generator, but we were very pleasantly surprised that the 9500DF model can power everything in the house, including the pool pump and hot tub! We don't have everything on at once, but we know during any kind of power outage, we'll still have our comforts. Living in Florida, this gives me peace of mind. The only issue we had was during the first startup, it took quite a number of tries. I think that's to be expected until the fuel pump can get everything primped. After that first start, it started right up every time we tried it. Very happy with our purchase!

We did our research into different types and sizes of generators and this one always came up as a reliable, powerful unit. We choose this model for its high output and the dual fuel option. My other half did not want to be handling containers of gasoline and we have natural gas directly to our home, so this unit could effectively power most of our home using a resource we already have handy. We have a few more steps to complete this project, but know we could use what we currently have and not have to worry about power outages.

Bought this generator during a week long power outage during the heat of last summer. We have an old small Genny we use for lights and cycling freezers, but needed well water for this long of an outage. Found that if I turn everything else off, it will run our older 4ton AC unit! Remote start is great. All good things so far.

i researched many generators and finally decided on this one because there were so many good reviews online. i currently have a 4500w generator that has helped me through 3 hurricanes over the past 20 years. this year i decided to get a larger one that i am having hooked into my fuse box so i can run a lot more things in my house. this generator looks great and i cant think of any other feature you could get. i really liked the dual fuel ability sometimes it is hard to find gas after a storm so now i have options. cant wait for the electrician to come and get my system installed.

It appears to be a solid unit. It has enough power to support my entire home. All appliances function and can be used as normal, including central AC, window AC, two fridges, sump pump, dehumidifier, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc. although when the central AC comes on the inrush is a real kick in the groin for this unit but it does recover quickly and carries on. I did not buy this for the propane option (don't want to take the hit on wattage) and I have two 30 gallon fuel drums, so I cannot attest to it's functioning on propane as I have not tried that option. Like many of the reviews out there for this unit, I had problems with getting this unit started. I don't have any propane and I am disabled and incapable of using the pull-start, so the only choice I had was the auto-start sequence and gasoline. I ran and restarted the sequence 4 times and it would not start. After going over this unit top to bottom with a fine tooth comb (had spark, was getting fuel to carburetor from tank) and after about 15 start cycles I finally found the problem. The automatic choke apparently has a very weak actuator and the choke lever was barely brushing up against the backside of the PCV hose (which is inconveniently positioned horizontally directly in front of the choke lever) with enough force to stop the travel of the choke actuator before it reached the fully closed position and thus starving the engine during the start cycle. I rerouted the PCV hose to run in front of a vertical line to the vapor canister which keeps the choke lever from brushing up against the PCV hose. Now, without interference the automatic choke functions properly and the unit starts within 3 seconds of initiating the start sequence. The only other issue with this unit is the obvious design flaw of placing the 50 Amp receptacle directly over the wheel which severely impedes the use of the receptacle with pretty much any 50 Amp cable.

Took out of the box and hooked up the propane, put the oil in it and was ready to start. Paired the remote and pushed the button on the remote and started right up. Im so glad I went with this generator. I would recommend anybody to purchase one of these if they are looking for a generator. You won't be sorry.

Bought this a month ago due to the "Power Safety Power Shutoffs". I'm in the Tehachapi Mts at 5000 ft. If you live in high elevation I would suggest ordering the high altitude kits as every 1000' in elevation yo will notice a decrease in fuel efficiency. Remote start works perfect. Easy assembly. Ran 10 hours on 2 gallons of gasoline. Ran a refrigerator, freezer whole house LED lights and AC with no problems. Had an electrician install a interlock to connect to panel. 2500 sq ft home.

I bought this a couple of months ago to provide backup power to my home in case of a power outage during the Maine cold winters. I haven't had to use it for a power failure yet, but I have started and tested the generator. I like the electric start with the key FOB. The assembly was quick and easy by installing 2 wheels and adding oil to the crankcase. I expect this generator to spend most of its life being stored under cover in my garage, but the peace of mind that I now have back up power for my home is worth every dime I paid for this unit. Really nice unit! I'm very pleased with the WGEN9500DF generator overall.

My wife and I have owned several generators in the past for backup power for our home in rural Oregon. By far the Westinghouse WGen9500DF is the best generator we have owned. It has ample power to run our home on gas or propane. The remote start is very very nice. It is very quiet compared to our old generators. The 50 amp service it is superior to the 30 amps on our previous generators. The generator came well packed and undamaged and was very simple to assemble the wheel package. It is a very well engineered unit. We highly recommend this generator.
