I have owned this generator for just over a month now, while not a lot of use yet time wise, I have been putting it through it's paces over the last 4 weekends, and its been flawless! The generator will be used to power my cottage that is off the grid, so it will be used on a weekly basis. This generator will be replacing my old unit of 8 years that still runs great, but I was seeking something with remote start, quieter operation, and better fuel economy. And so far the iGen4500 has exceeded my expectations. Whisper quiet, 18 + hours on a tank of fuel running in eco mode, and my favorite option, remote start which I love! No more having to run to the generator shed to start the generator at lunch time, or going back out at night to shut it off at the end of the day. The remote works flawless at about 100' from inside my cottage, to inside my generator shed where it sits. This a high end generator, with great fit and finish, and is on par with some of the higher end generators on the market.

Had this generator almost a month now I do over the road trucking and generator does exactly what it was made to do highly recommend getting this generator to anyone looking it’s light weight the pull handle is a big help I use this for my ac microwave tv and my power tools

My first 2-3 startups of this generator were a little slow and I figured cold start, priming etc, but the 4th time it wouldnt start at all. I checked all the basic maintenance issues like oil, flooding, spark plug and then I went to google. Apparently during manufacturing, a large number of these generators have a wire that controls the automatic choke that is simply not connected, or is connected loosely and just pops out while running the first time or 2. Once the wire was reattached, the generator starts the first time and runs like a dream.

Living in California, we experience power outages. The Westinghouse iGen4500 generator gives us comfort and security with long running time for essential devices and lights in the home. In addition, will be using the device to power equipment for disabled resident. Easy to use, options for starting, low noise, long run time.

I bought this a month ago received it by delivery about 7 days later. I finally unpacked it she ran great. But once I put a load on it later in the week it kept bogging down and surging . The only item I had power to was my boat air conditioning all the other breakers were in the off position. The ac would come on but the temperature controller would blink out every time the Gen bogged down. I look at the power output it was just .83 showing on the display. Maybe it’s just a defective unit. Yes I would recommend to a friend

November 21, 2021 Hello, I purchased the Gen 4500 and is very simple to use, however the automatic choke does not reset itself automatically at times, therefore it has to be reset manually by removing the engine cover which is a nuisance. other than that I*'m extremely happy with my purchase. I just bought this 2 weeks ago but so far I've got no complaints and it's exceeded my expectations. It's quieter than I expected with lots of power. Westinghouse did a great job packaging. There was alot of signs of abuse by Ups but none inside to the unit, great job packaging!

With Hurricane Dorian coming, I am so glad I bought this generator. Quiet, reliable. Even though heavy, easy to move with the wheels and handle. Good for electronics. Use for refrigerator, freezer, lights, fans, LCD TV, DVR, computer, and (maybe someday) AC window unit. This generator is exactly what I was looking for.

Perfect for our needs. Quiet, easy to use, push button start, USB ports, telescoping handle, everything you could need in an emergency. It was important for me (as the wife) to be able to use this, move it, set it up on my own as my husband is often called away during emergencies due to his work. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Using it for my camper for occasional boondocking as well as for occasional work where no power is available or during power outages at home. So far runs my 15K BTU A/C with no problem at 50% load, noise is about what I expected. Only had it for a day but it will be used heavily this coming weekend at a NASCAR race. The fit and finish of the plastic panels does not seem to be very good but that is minor as long as there are no other issues.
