very pleased with my iGen4500 purchase. easy to add the oil and start right out of the box. I read a lot of reviews which stated this model has automatic choke issues, well either I got lucky or they fixed the problem because mine works fine. haven't owned it for long so my review is limited to just a few tests but very happy with it so far. looking forward to camping season.

The wife and I just bought our first a new Travel Trailer. Graduated from a Tent Trailer. We needed a Generator that would not only meet the power needs of our trailer, but would be allowed within the National Parks. This Generator meets those needs as well as it's 1/3 the price of similar competitive models. I won't mention names but the initials are H and Y.... Right out of the box, I filled the oil, gas and connected the battery, started up on first pull, and the electric stat with remote. I am very please and would recommend Westinghouse's iGen line to all future Campers.

I am a mechanic and an electrician. The remote start/stop was (and is) very appealing. However, I feared a remote start meant an automatic choke that could fail. I read several accounts of others with the iGen4500 that, right out of the box, sputtered for a minute then stop, which meant shipping the genny to Westinghouse, and waiting 2-weeks without their genny. I wondered if these problems would be related to the automatic choke not working. Indeed, they were. Mine did the same thing. I went through the setup, started it, which sputtered for a minute then stopped. It was not going to restart. It sounded like the "automatic" choke was stuck closed. I opened up the side panel but didn't see anything that looked like a choke. Finally, I googled "iGen4500 choke problems". Score! Westinghouse had issued a service bulletin about this very issue. It showed how to manually move the choke (panel removal required), and presto -- it ran normally! The bulletin called this a temporary solution. "Step 2" was their "permanent solution", which required removing two more side panels (nearly 20 screws) and reattaching a harness that they predicted had become unconnected. Sure enough, it was disconnected. I reconnected it, buttoned it all back together, and now it works like it should. The connector makes a positive latch, so I don't believe this happened in shipping. No doubt it wasn't fully connected a the factory. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I'm now happy. It is surprisingly quiet. Plenty of power for my Airstream. The remote works, Gauges are nice. Get one.

Great features like having wheels to be moved easily. Extremely quiet operation, easy to setup and use and the remote control feature is convenient! Been researching these inverter generators for months and glad I purchased this brand and model. Additionally, you can connect two up at once for even more power if needed!

After months and months of research, my husband decided on the Westinghouse iGen4500 generator. We could not be more excited with how smoothly the generator fired up. We are excited to take it out camping this next week and try out the remote start/stop feature!

I was a bit concerned upon reading some of the reviews however once receiving my generator-it started right up and I am extremely happy with the overall product. Nice and quiet for camping as stated. Runs my 15,000 btu a/c in my rv at 25% in eco mode. Was a bit difficult and messy to get the correct amount of oil into the engine. That is the reason I am giving it 4 stars.

Bought this for off grid camping, great features and very quiet. Very disappointing that the Bonus Cover advertised as available when registering and providing a review, was actually not available, a little bit inappropriate as " limited supply" is not anywhere on the registration/request for review card in the product. Sad

I wrote a review a couple days ago had a little trouble getting it started at first, thought it had something to do with having to hold the start button till the green light blinking then taping the start button but that quit working. I ended up finding after all that it was just like other bad reviews the automatic choke was not working, I opened the face and the side panel with the pull start cord on it and found the choke wiring harness was unplugged. I did a lot of research before buying this generator and the only bad reviews were because of this same problem so was kind of expecting it. The other bad reviews go back a couple of years so am surprised they haven’t figured out a fix for this issue yet but a simple fix if slightly mechanically inclined and have a philips screw driver and a 10mm socket. After plugging in harness it starts on the first try every time,

Received my generator 2 months after purchase due to the hurricane in Puerto Rico. Everywhere was sold out and back ordered. This generator is pretty quiet when in low energy mode but can be fairly noisy when at full capacity. That's typical of any generator though. It easily runs my AC unit which is why I got the 4500 model. When the AC is not in use this generator handles all my needs with plenty of power to spare. I performed all the startup maintenance and the generator started easily enough. I have since had some minor issues but nothing a competent home mechanic can't figure out. The handle can be awkward to get to on the bottom of the generator. The auto start and remote start features are excellent. As long as the auto choke is working correctly it starts up immediately. This generator is a great value and I would recommend it to anyone who needs reliable portable power.

Purchased after the winter storm of 2021 in Texas where we were without power for several days. We have tested it out & its easy to use & powering up electronics worked. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it in a power outage yet, but I have a sense of security with it.
