The box would be great were it not for the difficulty in putting it together. Both side pieces were warped, making it VERY difficult to snap the box together, and I'm slightly concerned that, because of this, it will fly apart if we fill it too full. Some of the hardware was difficult to install - multiple size bolts and screws requiring multiple tools, screws in hard to get at locations, and tough plastic burrs that needed removing before being able to fit the bolts. But the warped pieces were the real issue. I guess this isn't a common problem, since most reveiwers say it is easy to build but, for the price, I would have expected better.

I'll see how it works outside and will update my opinion. it's definitely a two man job to snap and slide the first two panels. i didn't have the physical strength to push it down hard and slide it into the notch. was about to return it, infact scheduled the return but decided to have my second son come help the other, finally got it snapped in. im my opinion its easier to screw in the screws if you pre-drilled the holes.

I bought this container for storage on my lanai in Florida. I'm expecting that it will be impervious to both sun and heavy rain. It's very well built and roomy enough to hide everything I had sitting around in smaller containers, as well as pool supplies and gardening stuff. I was able to tidy up nicely before my Christmas party. Watch the videos for tips on assembly!!!

Have only been using this deck box for about 10 days, but so far I love it. my 9 year old grandson and I put it together, had a little trouble getting hinges right. It has been rained on several times already and the inside stayed dry. Lots of room for chair cushions, toys, even folding chairs. Since I have three grandkids 9 and under I paid extra to get a box with hinges that won't pinch fingers. Have already recommended this deck box to a friend.

We live near the Gulf of Mexico. I was looking for something to store my outdoor cushions. This box is perfect. My Grandson and his 11 yr. Old daughter assembled it for me, and I am very pleased with how it looks. I also like the feature of the lid not slamming down. A plus in my book. My cushions are now dry and clean when I need them.

I have had this deck box for a while and it has served its purpose well. When the Assembly, Deck Box Gas Springs, went bad I contacted Lifetime for a price quote for two of the Assembly, Deck Box Gas Springs. Too my surprise, these two items were sent to me at no cost. I wasn't aware that the deck box was still in warranty. The product is great and so is the company.

I bought this specifically to hold the cushions for my new orbit lounger & it is perfect with room to spare for my umbrella. My daughter & I put this together without any trouble, super easy! Seems to be watertight as we just had a storm, & my cushions are still dry.

This box wasn't difficult to assemble. It fits together nice and tight. It's a great addition to the back yard where it houses pool floats and chair cushions. I wish we would have bought this years ago. Nice and sturdy, can be used to sit on, too.

I bought this box several years ago, and use it near my dock on saltwater canal. Not surprisingly the hinges and gas struts began to rust after 7 years or so. When I contacted CS I was presently surprised that they sent replacement hinges, struts and hardware at no cost - based on my representation it was about 7 years old. CS representative and was very courteous and and efficient.

It was very hard to put together, we hammered it with rubber mallet and 2x4 and towels for protection and still it took an act of God to get this thing to connect. We are both strong and able people We are DIYers in our early 50s and this was a b!! Overall awesome product though, overpriced, but durable. The lifetime label fell off right out of the box. Slightly disappointing since youre paying extra for the name. However It is the best on the market! Recommending ONLY because theres nothing else to compare it to! The sun casts are cheaply made.
