It was very easy to put together and took me about an hour. You will need tools, 7/16 & ½ wrenches, 3/8, 7/16, ½ sockets, rubber mallet and a Philips screwdriver. I would recommend avoiding the temptation to use power tools as you are screwing into plastic and it would be very easy to strip the treads. So do not over tighten the screws. Make sure you align and securely fix the back, front and sides to the base, (I did use a rubber mallet) and you will find the box is very sturdy. The instructions suggest two people to put it together, but I put it together on my own. It might have been helpful to have someone when you put on and align the top, but I had no real problem. I had to clean out some of the pre-drilled holes and I pre-drilled a few holes on the front of the lid to make it easier to insert screws, otherwise no issues. Read the instructions and you should find it easy too. The box is very large and it already stores eight of our folding chairs and will comfortably accommodate our chair cushions when they are ready to be stored away for the winter. The other reviews said it is waterproof, so I hope that’s true. I hope my review was helpful.

This is a great storage solution for our pool deck. It stays dry inside and holds all our kids pool tools and etc plus it looks nice. We bought one last year and then another this year for our patio. No sun/uv fading of color, our old one looks just like the new one.

I bought this about a month ago and I am very impressed. It looks good on my deck, is very sturdy, it keeps everything dry inside (note that I did caulk all the seams inside). It's of a size that is generous, but does not overcrowd my deck. I could not be more pleased.

I did quite a lot of research in selecting this box, comparing a number of alternative manufacturers, designs, colors, and sizes. I made the final selection on this box based upon design strength. Others did not have the metal bracing and hinges. I needed a box that would hold up. In this respect, I am sure I made the right decision. It is very sturdy. Two adults can sit on it without problem (probably three, but I did not try this). It also, looks better than I expected from the pictures. I thought the top would be too dark in contrast to the sides, but it looks great. The instructions are well written and easy to follow, though when printed, a little hard to read without a magnifying glass. There is also a video which is helpful, but runs very fast, so you have to re-run it several times to catch the steps. However, the instructions are not completely accurate in my experience. First the good news -- one adult can put this bin together without help. It does not take two or three people. It does take one who is able to read and follow instructions and use hand tools. Now the bad news -- from the time you open the box and start reading the instructions for the first time, it takes a lot longer than an hour to assemble. I'd allow at least 2 - 3 hours depending on how skilled you are. I could have done it faster if I had known the following: As far as tools, forget the rubber hammer. The plastic is much too sturdy for this to do any good. But, IN ADDITION TO THE TOOLS LISTED, YOU WILL NEED: 1) A drill with both 1/8" (or smaller) and 1/4" bits. The 1/8" is needed to drill pilot holes for screws. I can't see how anyone can get screws started through the tough plastic on the front brace without this. The 1/4" bit is to finish bolt holes that are not completely drilled coming from the factory. There were several of these. The bolts won't go in without redrilling. 2) A rasp or heavy gage file. This is to file edges that don't exactly fit. I found this was the only way I could get the top to close. I tried adjusting the hinges, but I could not get the right side to line up so that it would completely close. I was about to give up when I decided to rasp the right corner holding up the fit. That worked fine. Again the material is very hard and very sturdy. A bit of rasping worked and did not hurt the box's integrity. 3) Both ratchet and box wrenches are needed in the sizes indicated in the instructions. As far as other assembly tips go: I had to put my full body weight onto the right side to get it to pop into position. It took me a while to work up to this level of exertion, worrying that I might break something. The box material is very strong. You can't break it. It also appeared to me that a left and a right side hinge holder was needed, and I got two left side hinges. That caused the top to be just a bit out of line on the right side.There was no mention of this in the instructions. I tried to rotate the hinge to get it to line up, but was unable to make that work. Rasping the front right corner fixed this, but it took me a while to move to this last resort. Though there was some frustration in installation, I am very happy to have this box.

I use my 130 gallon deck box to store the large cushions to my patio furniture. The plastic is thick and very strong. This box does not just snap together, it has hardware that comes with it (screws, brackets etc.) which are heavy duty as well making the box very strong and sturdy to be used as additional seating. This box is not flimsy at all. I looked at all the other brands over the past year before purchasing this one. The disadvantage for me is that the box is only 20.75 inches wide on the inside so my large cushions will not lay flat. Because the cushions have to stand up, all of the cushions will not fit. :-( If this box was about 2 inches wider or was available in 140 to 150 gallons, I would give it 5 stars! Though it only comes in the one color, it happens to go well with my grey and sand colored patio furniture. Although a wider box would store all of my cushions, I chose this one because of its quality and it's sale price. I plan to use it for a very long time!

Purchased item based on favorable reviews. My finding was not as kind. Floor of unit is so thinly extruded that by simply kneeling on the floor during assembly I dented the bottom. I am average weight. The premium in price did not translate to a premium in quality. Buy cheaper box and most likely get same build quality.

This is being used as a dock box. The assembly instructions were good - and reading through before starting is a fine idea! The precision of the large plastic parts is almost perfect - but far enough off that some creative work was needed to get the hinges installed. Hoping the metal parts won't corrode too soon.

Seems like good quality from Lifetime. I will test it outdoors for wear and water resistance. Its easier to assemble if you follow the written instructions and watch the video. Had some difficulty with the front panel as the base seemed slightly curved making it hard to lock into place in the middle. Had someone push down as I locked it into place. .

I LOVE this huge container, I can get so many large patio things stashed in there for winter. I was calling to get a new hinge and shock for one side. Altho I didn't have my receipt and purchase date anymore, the customer service gentleman is sending me the parts free of charge!! yaaay! Thank you so much!! I am a customer forever!
