Bought on April 18, 2015 I purchased this for the storage capacity for my front porch. However, the time to put it together was over several hours. Would like to point out the molded bubble to go into the fitted slots on the bottom floor plate needs to be better trimmed to fit into the slots. The holes for the screws should have a starter hole or an inverted dimple on the other side for the screws to go in properly.

Theresa, at the Lifetime Store in Clearfield, was great to work with. The assembly instructions were easy to understand and overall the assembly was simple. The alignment of the screw holes in the lower left hinge arm and the side panel were slightly out of alignment, but it was easy to correct. A very solid outdoor storage solution. One of my favorite Lifetime Products!

The Lifetime 130 Gal Deck Box is well made, sturdy, easy to assemble (it took my husband by himself 20-30 minutes to assemble), it is huge and looks great! Lifetime has made some changes on how the pistons and hinges attach, I had read some reviews that expressed some concern but when I looked at the reviews pictures, like 2012, 2013 reviews, our deck box assembly and hardware is little different. I do not think Lifetime supplies stainless steel nuts and bolts with this product which they should due to rusting issues, so my husband is going to replace the included nuts and bolts with stainless steel ones. We have gone through deck boxes every year for the past 3 years and I feel this deck box will last us many years to come. It is used for pool toys, and pool items and sits in direct sun on our deck. I bought mine last fall. It is light to move, and I really like the fact that it keeps everything inside dry. It is a little pricey, but worth it to know cushions from my good metal set will keep dry and clean. I wash it off with a hose, but you must have the lid down firmly to keep things dry. I also like the fact that it holds its value, as the sun does not trash it.

Much sturdier than other brands since you have to put screws in and such. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because you have to drive the screws through the plastic directly and not through prefabricated bores that should be reinforced, so I don't know how will this stand the test of time.

Reviews of lesser priced storage boxes indicated a problem with the hinges pulling out of the plastic, only time will tell with this product. Kept the rain out during the first small shower, will reserve judgment until after a heavy downpour. DIY to put together I put at a 3.5/5, takes some skill; there is a video which helped more than the paper instructions. Would recommend; hopefully my optimism will hold up a couple of months from now.

I have purchased 3 of the Heavy-Duty Outdoor Storage Deck Box (130 Gallon). One of the boxes I use for the storage of pool chemicals. Because of the nature of these chemicals, the hinges inside the box started to rust and eventually break. This is not a manufacturing defect and was caused by me because I needed a place to store chemicals. John was kind enough to send me replacement hinges so that I could continue to use the box. I was willing to pay for the new hinges; but he went the extra mile to sending them at NO charge. Lifetime really stands behind their products. They have a customer for life!

This item is billed as easy assembly but unless you have a full tool kit at home including different sized wrenches (with socket wrench) it's going to require a trip to the hardware store. That wasn't mentioned anywhere on the product webpage. Also, the plastic moldings on mine are not a perfect fit so even after hammering, jimmying, adjusting, and putting full weight into it, one of the corners still sits 1/2 inch higher than the others leaving the bottom corner exposed for dirt, water and bugs. Not really happy with this at all.

We have had our deck box for 5 years. It sets in our campsite in the middle of our woods in Wisconsin. It’s seen lots of snow, thunderstorms cold and hot weather over the seasons and it’s held up extremely well. We even had a bear “play” with it, overturning it and biting it in several places. Couldn’t be happier with this product.

This has been a reliable deck box since we purchased it a few years ago. Sturdy and for the most part has kept the elements out. (Maybe not completely water proof, but what water has gotten in has been minimal.) A couple years ago we got home from vacation to find the lid badly chewed up, by either a very aggressive squirrel or maybe a possum. (We had stored birdseed in the box.) I finally got around to calling Lifetime to see if we could order a replacement lid, and the customer service rep graciously agreed to send us one for free.
