I use my 130 gallon deck box to store the large cushions to my patio furniture. The plastic is thick and very strong. This box does not just snap together, it has hardware that comes with it (screws, brackets etc.) which are heavy duty as well making the box very strong and sturdy to be used as additional seating. This box is not flimsy at all. I looked at all the other brands over the past year before purchasing this one. The disadvantage for me is that the box is only 20.75 inches wide on the inside so my large cushions will not lay flat. Because the cushions have to stand up, all of the cushions will not fit. :-( If this box was about 2 inches wider or was available in 140 to 150 gallons, I would give it 5 stars! Though it only comes in the one color, it happens to go well with my grey and sand colored patio furniture. Although a wider box would store all of my cushions, I chose this one because of its quality and it's sale price. I plan to use it for a very long time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I selected the 130 gal. box to store to store my two-person rope hammock and patio cushions, along with toys, balls and other items used around the pool. It looks great and keeps everything dry. It was easy to assemble, particularly when you can review the assembly video as you go. Highly recommend.

I spoke with neighbors and looked at their boxes, all of which are only rated 1-3 Stars on various sites. I found a few sites that actually sold and had Customer Reviews for the Lifetime Deck Box, virtually all of which are 5 Stars. Based upon the 5-Star Reviews and product photos, I decided to order the Lifetime Deck Box. There is none that can match the quality and price of this box. Now my neighbors are considering replacing their "Brand Names" with one that is virtually unknown and will eventually be "The Paradigm" of deck boxes. Thank you for a truly quality product. I did quite a lot of research in selecting this box, comparing a number of alternative manufacturers, designs, colors, and sizes. I made the final selection on this box based upon design strength. Others did not have the metal bracing and hinges. I needed a box that would hold up. In this respect, I am sure I made the right decision. It is very sturdy. Two adults can sit on it without problem (probably three, but I did not try this). It also, looks better than I expected from the pictures. I thought the top would be too dark in contrast to the sides, but it looks great. The instructions are well written and easy to follow, though when printed, a little hard to read without a magnifying glass. There is also a video which is helpful, but runs very fast, so you have to re-run it several times to catch the steps. However, the instructions are not completely accurate in my experience. First the good news -- one adult can put this bin together without help. It does not take two or three people. It does take one who is able to read and follow instructions and use hand tools. Now the bad news -- from the time you open the box and start reading the instructions for the first time, it takes a lot longer than an hour to assemble. I'd allow at least 2 - 3 hours depending on how skilled you are. I could have done it faster if I had known the following: As far as tools, forget the rubber hammer. The plastic is much too sturdy for this to do any good. But, IN ADDITION TO THE TOOLS LISTED, YOU WILL NEED: 1) A drill with both 1/8" (or smaller) and 1/4" bits. The 1/8" is needed to drill pilot holes for screws. I can't see how anyone can get screws started through the tough plastic on the front brace without this. The 1/4" bit is to finish bolt holes that are not completely drilled coming from the factory. There were several of these. The bolts won't go in without redrilling. 2) A rasp or heavy gage file. This is to file edges that don't exactly fit. I found this was the only way I could get the top to close. I tried adjusting the hinges, but I could not get the right side to line up so that it would completely close. I was about to give up when I decided to rasp the right corner holding up the fit. That worked fine. Again the material is very hard and very sturdy. A bit of rasping worked and did not hurt the box's integrity. 3) Both ratchet and box wrenches are needed in the sizes indicated in the instructions. As far as other assembly tips go: I had to put my full body weight onto the right side to get it to pop into position. It took me a while to work up to this level of exertion, worrying that I might break something. The box material is very strong. You can't break it. It also appeared to me that a left and a right side hinge holder was needed, and I got two left side hinges. That caused the top to be just a bit out of line on the right side.There was no mention of this in the instructions. I tried to rotate the hinge to get it to line up, but was unable to make that work. Rasping the front right corner fixed this, but it took me a while to move to this last resort. Though there was some frustration in installation, I am very happy to have this box.

Not happy putting this together. The manual has a gazillion languages, and it was very confusing. Good luck putting this all together. This is my 2nd day and I still have not figure it out. I would be happy if they could send somebody over here to assemble this.

Box was delivered as scheduled. Easy to assemble. It is very spacious. My son has lots of superheroes and Marvel characters which are still in boxes and never been opened. They are his collections. They fit in this box. I am so happy that 75% of the clutter was removed inside his room! I wish I can purchase another one but the price increased.

We had our Lifetime Products outdoor pool storage box several years and all the metal connections rusted. I called to get a price on replacement parts because the rest of the unit was in perfect condition. They no longer make this unit so they shipped a full replacement storage box to us free of charge to cover the remainder of our 10 year warranty! You can’t find customer service like this very often. Thank you Lifetime Products!!

This deck box is nice but putting it together should have been much easier. The first problem was step one—the notches you use to lock it in needs some further design tweaks. We finally got it together by using a can of kitchen spray oil. The other issue is there are three different size bolts/screws, a smarter designer would have tried to create a piece that one size wrench would work for the whole build. Now that it is done I am happy with the deck box.

Would’ve been 5 stars if the screws fit properly when building it or the types of screws were easier to handle because of the angle they need to go in. That’s the only downside - everything else worked just fine and the storage fits perfectly in the space we wanted it for. Also really dig the closing mechanics - no fear of it falling on your fingers and it feels smooth

I just purchased 2 60012 boxes and am very satisfied. I was short one small item and no problem them sending it. Easy assembly, only front and rear panels difficult to fasten to floor panel, but a little wd40 fixed that, and happy about made in USA.
