My wife and I live in a coastal maritime environment, subject to high winds and heavy, blowing rain. Our search criteria: Sturdiness; sun- and water-resistance; and capacity (ability to hold a full complement of deck furniture cushions). Our search led us to select the Lifetime 130-gal product. Our unassembled Deck Box arrived in good condition. The various panels were uncrated and inspected; no damage was noted. Hardware was unbagged, inspected, and inventoried; quantities were as-advertised. The only material I added, were two tubes of silicone caulk which I used during assembly to further enhance water tightness. Assembly was straightforward. I was especially impressed with how easily and precisely the components fit together. Attaching hardware (screws and nuts and bolts) could be inserted in their recesses and installed with the common hand tools identified in the assembly instructions. Working by myself, and taking my time, the Box was completed in about an hour and a half. In summary, I believe the Lifetime Deck Box is a great value - compared to other deck boxes in its size range it's not the least expensive, but it is much better built and well worth the additional expense.

I was looking for a large outdoor storage bin that was sturdy, weather resistant, and looked good....this bin did not disappoint! Easy to put together (but you will need your own tools), well constructed, excellent fit for injection molded plastics, and the pneumatic struts make for easy opening and a sure lock in the open position (you know the lid is not going to fall back on your head when you reach in!). This thing is big on storage!! Plenty of room for 55 feet of pool vac hose, plus all the chemical buckets (and you can put a lock on it for safety!), vac and brush attachments, and there is still room left for pool toys! I am VERY pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to others without hesitation.

The assembly was frustrating at times as instructions were all pictures so sometimes vague. Two people to assemble is best for steadying materials and getting second opinion on assembly instruction intentions. The unit itself was the best quality for the money with features we sought for our extreme heat and rain. Neutral color is great. We have also bought a Lifetime folding table and have been pleased with this company's product durability.

I really love the spaciousness of this box! Just have to see if an adjustment can be made to have the lid close right. It is a little off alinement & I have to push it to get it closed. Kept my cushions dry from the rain but I don't know it would if it is sitting in a puddle since it isn't a one piece construction. I thought of sitting it up on some bricks or planks.

This deck box is huge. Larger than we expected. Lots of inside space. It holds lots of the pool equipment and cleaning supplies. The color is a little different from the picture but its still nice. Don't know about sitting on top of it though. I don't think the lid is designed for that. Maybe for young children but that's about it. We really liked it. It looks nice and its easy to clean.

I purchased the outside deck box (model # 60040) 3 years ago and was surprised to find the lid struts and associated hardware was so rusted they looked as though they exploded from the inside out. The representative I spoke with quickly identified the replacement hardware kit for my model deck box and is shipping it right away. One can’t ask for any better customer service than I received today.

Price is good, quality of pieces that snap together is bad, not easy to slide panels in slots due to bad quality of tabs, tabs not formed properly make it hard to slide and end up deforming.... was very frustrating....other then that it’s a good size box

I had a Lifetime 130 gal. deck box for a number of years now. It matches our deck and house perfectly and has stood the test of time really well. Last year squirrels chewed on the lid, but because of the double wall construction we’re not able to get in. We decided to replace the lid this year for cosmetic reasons. The new one is on the way thanks to great customer service at Lifetime! Could not be happier with our original purchase, or with Lifetime customer service. Thank you!

Some difficulty getting the slots to line up when putting the front and back into the base plate. You can mess up the locking dogs if you force it. Also a plug wasn't completely removed from one slot on both units (got 2 of them), and two holes in the plastic needed enlarging. Nothing major, just needed to be careful during assembly. Once assembled it is a great unit. Was pleasantly surprised that the lid had gas shocks to control lid opening/closing.

No Assembly instructions and wrong size screws. This must have been a returned and repackaged item that was put back into inventory without any quality check. Manufacturer's web site could not 'find' assembly manual. Had to resort to amateur YouTube videos and run to hardware store for correct size screws. Never using Walmart site again.
