Got 14 huge steaks out of it. Wonderful flavor. Leftover pieces and trimmings go into a beef stroganoff.

If you like New York strips, this is exactly for you. The cost of precut and packaged New York strips is a waste of money. Everyone has a knife and a cutting board to cut steaks as thin or thick as you like. Vacuum seal and enjoy when you like.

We bought this and cut our own steaks and I don’t think we’ll go back to buying pre-cut steaks. The meat is delicious and we saved about 70 bucks doing it this way so that was awesome and it really wasn’t too much work to cut them up and freeze them! I do wish there was a little more fat trimmed before being sold but not enough to remove a star!

This was a huge piece of meat. I cut into two roasts. Great quality!

It was a lovely cut of beef. I do fairly well on the grill, but this meat seemed a little tough. It was cut into about 16 steaks. The price went up dramatically since last purchase.

I bought one at 16 pounds and ended up with 3.7 pounds of fat. Honestly it was fun to cut up my own steaks and what not but not worth the time. I understand Walmart corp buys it by the pound and pushes that measure on to use but darn. We are the end customer and we end up eating all the loss of the buy, resale story. Really stings to know you should expect at least 25% will be fat. Math doesn’t add up. I ended up only saving about $14-20 bucks at best for buying this.

I picked this up curbside and neglected to inspect before traveling home. 25% (3 pounds) of the weight was a very large fat cap. By far, the worst I've ever seen. It also has a lot of fat throughout. This was so bad, it seems to be an intentional "thumb on the scales". In retrospect, I should have returned it but had already opened and began trimming.

Had an abscess in the meat. Very low quality in general. Sam’s used to be the best.

The meat had over 4 pounds of fat. There is no savings purchasing the slab in my opinion. Better to purchase the pre-cut steak. The flavor of steak was good.
