I've owned this for 3 years now. Awesome composter. Only negative is you have to keep the hinges greased, oil don't last. During the summer months I get compost in 30 days, winter months take about 90 days. One of the hinges broke I called to buy more and they shipped me a new one no charge. This is the best composter I have seen or used so far.

We are new owners of the dual drum composter. We will revisit the review section next spring, after it has been tumbling and digesting for the winter, to assess the quality of the soil production and how well the mec. We generate low volumes of household scraps so we generally need to augment with carbon-rich material such as sawdust. We also inoculate when necessary to punch up the biota. We transferred our two heaps to the drums a week ago and have spun them twice. The frame seems like it will last the life of the drums. Our only concern is how much mass this unit can support and contain. Not only would the axial pipe begin to flex in the middle , the drums become impossible to turn.

Just finished assembling my new Lifetime compost tumbler. The materials are substantial. Thick plastic (no rust) and heavy gauge steel leg assembly. The only suggestion I would have is to add another couple of spacers in between the two barrels. There is too much movement, IMHO. I will be back to review in several months on the actual performance of the tumbler. Based on materials and construction alone, I would not hesitate to purchase another one.

We have had these for a little over a year now. We have yet to get useful “dirt” from them. Some of that may be our own fault, but in the past we have never had issues with composting. Guessing our struggle is more about not being in-ground throwing us for a loop on the proper blend. We usually do nothing more than fruit/veggie scraps, some leaves, and maybe a bit of grass clippings from time. Our biggest complaint is the hardware. There is no way these are going to last past maybe three years. 1.5 years in and the paint is faded, paint is blistering, and rust is all over the place. These pictures are from this summer. The issues have only gotten worse the past two months.

The hinges have rust welded two of our four bins CLOSED permanently. I suppose there is some way to replace these hinges, but direct replacement parts are not listed on the site. If these are a “normal” west item, they should be easily found on the site. If they are normal wear, their replacement price should be reasonable. It is just a metal himge, after all.

I have purchased, assembled and used the double rotating composter (100 Gallon) for about 4 months. The unit works very well and the compost matures quickly. I recommend this product very much. I am giving the product a rating of 4 rather than 5 star only because of the difficult assemble process. It is difficult to assemble, even with 2 people. Having said that, the final assembled product works very well.

We bought ours three years ago and it still looks new. We absolutely love it. Well worth the money. It's made very heavy duty. Legs do not bend when barrels are full. Critters have not gotten into it. We put two buckets underneath each side to catch the leakage which we then poor on our plants. What I have read, this is compost tea and it's great fertilizer too. My husband set it up higher so we can just drop the curred compost into a wheel barrel instead of having to shovel it all out. Our in laws were so impressed with it that they bought one too. It also has saved us tons of garbage by composting everything we possibly can. Tho we don't put meat/bones in ours because we don't want to attract bears.

I bought one of these many years ago and it has held up great except that one of the hinges rusted out this year. My fault because I should have kept it oiled. I contacted Customer Service and Justin sent me new hinges absolutely free of charge. I have never seen a company that stands behind it's products like Lifetime. These are great composters because it is so easy to turn your compost every few weeks - a must if you want to produce good compost. Thanks Justin for your help!

I bought the tumblers in 2013 or 2014. Aside from a few changes that I would suggest in the instructions for assembling the compost tumbler set, we were able to assemble the set in a couple of hours. The tumblers worked quite well, and I was quite happy with them until the hinge on one of the tumblers rusted through in the winter of 2018-2019. I contacted customer service at Lifetime and asked how I could purchase new hinges and latches for my two compost tumblers. (Only the hinge on the one was completely dysfunctional, but the hinges were showing signs of rust, and I wanted to purchase the parts for both tumblers to avoid delays if and when the other parts should rust through.) To clarify, I was not requesting anything free; I had owned the tumblers for 5-6 years and considered the damage to the hinge to be normal after that time period sitting out in the elements. Bruce, the customer service rep, requested photos of the damage, and shortly I received notification that the hinge and two latches were being shipped to me. I received them, and my husband installed them easily, returning my compost tumbler set to full functionality and usefulness. I was charged nothing for the replacement parts. Obviously, I cannot complain about the service; however, I would comment that I would still like to be able to purchase parts for the second tumbler in the set on the Lifetime website so that I won't have a delay in the case that the parts on the other tumbler rust through or break. Overall, I have had a very good experience with the dual tumbler set and with Lifetime Customer Service. I utilize the tumblers daily to make compost for my garden, and find them very useful and simple to operate. They also have a very large capacity, which helps me get the most out of my garden.

I have owned one of these for 10 years and it was the best purchase for my garden by far. This product is amazing and the customer service from lifetime is unmatched. If any of your parts need to be replaced they are exemplary on responding and sending you replacement parts. FYI I have read many reviews about this product stating it won't last or is hard to assemble and this is simply not the case. Extremely easy to assemble and I still have the same double composting bin after 10 plus years. This compost bin is by far the best on the market and worth every cent. Thank you for lifetime for making my organic garden come to life. My fruit trees and vegetables thank you for creating the easiest to use composter on the market that has amazing soil capacity and will keep your back from visiting the chiropractor by having to turn over your compost pile each week.
