Simplifies composting

We are new owners of the dual drum composter. We will revisit the review section next spring, after it has been tumbling and digesting for the winter, to assess the quality of the soil production and how well the mec. We generate low volumes of household scraps so we generally need to augment with carbon-rich material such as sawdust. We also inoculate when necessary to punch up the biota. We transferred our two heaps to the drums a week ago and have spun them twice. The frame seems like it will last the life of the drums. Our only concern is how much mass this unit can support and contain. Not only would the axial pipe begin to flex in the middle , the drums become impossible to turn.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the material but we had trouble with the assembly. The instructions were not clear when assembling the panels of the barrels. Each panel has to go together in a certain way to attach to the side. The bottom pieces have a symbol to match. It would help to number each piece. We assembled it wrong and had to disassemble and start over because the place for screws didn't match up.

I bought my bin 4 years ago and it has worked very well. I love having one left to compost while the other is added to. My hinge recently rusted and would not open and Lifetime sent me 2 replacements and a full set of nuts and bolts, no hassles. It arrived to Australia in less than a week. I was impressed.

I've owned this for 3 years now. Awesome composter. Only negative is you have to keep the hinges greased, oil don't last. During the summer months I get compost in 30 days, winter months take about 90 days. One of the hinges broke I called to buy more and they shipped me a new one no charge. This is the best composter I have seen or used so far.

We bought the double bin rotating composter about one year ago. After a year the hinges rusted to the point where they could not function. I called customer service and they sent replacement parts free of charge. It was unexpected but very much appreciated. The Tumblers were great.

I had this Item for a few years but only used it for a year. The hinge on both barrels are rusted shut and cannot be used. I tried opening one side after oiling the hinge but cracked the barrel rendering it useless. I tried looking for the part number so I can order another hinge for the other side but can not find it on Lifetime site. I don't know why it's so hard to get the part as I am sure Lifetime knew that these parts would rust especially if you live near the California coast.

This device simply does not work and in not engineered to turn and hold any compost. I am an engineering professor and we would never have let this leave the design studio. The sides fall off, the band that holds the device together does not do its job, and the metal parts are made of metal that rusts... a silly design for something that is intended to be outside and get wet!

I've had my composter for several years and have enjoyed it's efficient and easy performance. The only complaint I have is quite similar to others listed ... the hinges and metal external parts rust and I've found no way (rust removal liquid, spray, etc.) to prevent it. At this point only one barrel is functional as the other barrel's lid will not open. The saving grace is that the customer service chat function was extremely easy to order replacement parts - I'm not thrilled with the cost of replacement parts but it's cheaper than replacing the barrels. Lifetime needs to find a better protective surface for all exposed metal pieces as it is truly IMPOSSIBLE to prevent rust when being used outside.

I bought one of these many years ago and it has held up great except that one of the hinges rusted out this year. My fault because I should have kept it oiled. I contacted Customer Service and Justin sent me new hinges absolutely free of charge. I have never seen a company that stands behind it's products like Lifetime. These are great composters because it is so easy to turn your compost every few weeks - a must if you want to produce good compost. Thanks Justin for your help!
