We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the material but we had trouble with the assembly. The instructions were not clear when assembling the panels of the barrels. Each panel has to go together in a certain way to attach to the side. The bottom pieces have a symbol to match. It would help to number each piece. We assembled it wrong and had to disassemble and start over because the place for screws didn't match up.

The hinges have rust welded two of our four bins CLOSED permanently. I suppose there is some way to replace these hinges, but direct replacement parts are not listed on the site. If these are a “normal” west item, they should be easily found on the site. If they are normal wear, their replacement price should be reasonable. It is just a metal himge, after all.

I have purchased, assembled and used the double rotating composter (100 Gallon) for about 4 months. The unit works very well and the compost matures quickly. I recommend this product very much. I am giving the product a rating of 4 rather than 5 star only because of the difficult assemble process. It is difficult to assemble, even with 2 people. Having said that, the final assembled product works very well.

This device simply does not work and in not engineered to turn and hold any compost. I am an engineering professor and we would never have let this leave the design studio. The sides fall off, the band that holds the device together does not do its job, and the metal parts are made of metal that rusts... a silly design for something that is intended to be outside and get wet!

I bought my bin 4 years ago and it has worked very well. I love having one left to compost while the other is added to. My hinge recently rusted and would not open and Lifetime sent me 2 replacements and a full set of nuts and bolts, no hassles. It arrived to Australia in less than a week. I was impressed.

I had this Item for a few years but only used it for a year. The hinge on both barrels are rusted shut and cannot be used. I tried opening one side after oiling the hinge but cracked the barrel rendering it useless. I tried looking for the part number so I can order another hinge for the other side but can not find it on Lifetime site. I don't know why it's so hard to get the part as I am sure Lifetime knew that these parts would rust especially if you live near the California coast.

Been using ours for a bout a month. Its heavy duty and looks good. Easy to use. My husband put it together and had no problems. Delivery was quick too.

I love my compost bin but over time hinges have rusted. I would've gladly paid for replacements but Lifetime sent me new hinges for free. It's hard to believe real customer service is out there but Lifetime just raised the bar.

I have composted over 30 years. This is my fourth composter and I have to say I like it best . The instructions were easy to follow and all the parts were in the package making it easy to construct. I want to thank Lifetime for a job well done.

The screws (BIR x12) are a few centimeters too long and will not allow us to “tighten nuts securely”. This has prevented us from finishing the build and the product has sat on our patio for weeks! Please let us know how to remedy this.
