We alternate the barrels and it works fine. Did have some rust on one hinge so be sure to put grease on it when assembling (like I didn't). I think the stuff used for garage doors would be great, that's what I have on there now. But no problems, animals try to get in but give up after a while.

I just got this and thankfully I did not allow my husband to put it together by himself because it is definitely a two man job. They even give you two sets of instructions which I really appreciated; so I didn't have to read over his shoulder. It was a lot of assembly but I think it will be a good composter.

Composter has been great. Cotter pin bent and another item broke. I emailed to lifetime and they replaced at no charge. Great customer service. Thank you

I have used this composter for 10 years and it has begun to have some problems with the hinges rusting . I contacted customer support who sent me new hinges free. Thank You Lifetime for your support

Bought two years ago and one door hinge broke but was replaced by lifetime with no worries. Just make sure its level when you set it up and it will work for you also.

I've had this composter for several years but the hinges on one of the bins rusted and will no longer operate. A new set is being sent to me free of charge. Great service!

I purchased the composter about 4 years ago and it has done great work for me. I had to purchase new hinges last week which were shipped immediately and worked well!
