Awesome upgrade - good feng shui
I love this fridge. It fits great in my kitchen, and it holds WAY more than my old fridge. When I upgraded to the LG, I loaded it with the food that was in my old refrigerator. Our old refrigerator was completely full, but LG ended up being about 1/4 full. Opening my old fridge used to be stressful — food was wedged into spaces and precariously balanced on mysterious jars or forgotten tin foiled shapes. Opening this fridge is a relaxing experience. Plenty of room for everything to be in its place. Easy to find the pickles. The doors even close softly. It’s also peaceably quiet. My kitchen flows into the living room and I got used to hearing the chronic hum of my old fridge in the living room. Now, the only time I hear this fridge is if I leave the door open and it politely jingles at me to close it. Another thing I appreciate is the door shelf gives enough space to hold an open bottle of wine upright. That cork sticking up used to make the bottle too tall to stand up in my old fridge and I’d have to lean it against something. The middle drawer is a cool concept (pun intended) and has caused fridge-envy in my neighbors. I like that it can be used as a separate freezer area, regular fridge area, or a meat area (colder than the regular fridge area). We are currently using it as a meat area to keep chicken breasts etc. separated from other food and at a cooler temp. The movable separator wall in the drawer is a nice touch too. The freezer is super deep. The bottom has plenty of room for bigger items, and the rolling shelf helps keep things in order. We use the shelf for the go-to frozens, like blueberries and bagels, and there is always a full bucket of little ice cubes. The water from my kitchen faucet does not taste good. The filtered water from this fridge tastes great. You lose a little space on the left door when you opt for the model with the water/ice dispenser, but it is well worth it. Lastly, the crushed ice is awesome. It gives my leftover morning coffee new life as mid-day iced coffee. This fridge has been a transformative experience.

First few days
First few days with this fridge leave a good impression overall. Complaints are: the lack of adjustable shelves on the doors and a bit of an issue between advertising and reality. The second ice maker that apparently comes standard, is not quite what I had read about. It makes one kind of ice and slowly at that. We'll see how it goes...so far so good.

Defective French Doors
I had the refrigerator replaced because the French doors were uneven and did not close right on the left side unless you made sure and push it closed. The new one that it was replaced with is the exact same way. I'm assuming that this model is defective. Everything else works great on it. This issue should be resolved.

Not Happy
The freezer is not very deep. The shelves are not adjustable the way you need them. The color I ordered only cam out on the top & sides....not the door front. The freezer ice compartment is not the easiest to get out ice. I could go on but I am not a happy camper with this refrigerator.

Poor engineering
First unit was returned under warranty for failing to cool sufficiently with 5 deg. F higher temperature than set point in main compartment. Freezer held setpoint/. NEw unit is better, but still temperature differences between shelves. I ce in freezer tray overfills and spills ice out back when drawer opened. Tush pad control buttons difficult to operate and failed after a few months. Ice in door failed. Shelving was good. Returned unit could not be repaired by technicians. These are throw away refrigerators. I measured the temperature with a laboratory thermometer calibrated aged against ice and water. I would be happy to pass my thoughts on to your engineering department. I am a chemical engineer..

A Kia Dressed Up as a Ferrari!
1. Extremely annoying as I cannot change the timing of the door alarm which has been locked by LG. There is no reason for LG to not allow the owner to change the door alarm timing. This is a fridge not an SUV. 2. The bins are cheap looking and not worthy of an expensive fridge. 3. The middle drink cabinet (above freezer) is poorly designed and cannot hold many bottles. I would not buy this again.

This refrigerator has stopped working, 3 times now. I have lost probably over $1000 in food, let alone all the clean up and smell and hassle. We have been away each time it has happened, so we didn't find out right away.

Money pit- do NOT buy LG
At this point, I wouldn't take a brand new LG fridge for free. I did NOT buy it at Sam's but I need to warn others. We have lost 3 full fridges worth of food. I am now on the 4th compressor. Last compressor didn't even make it a year. LG knows they have an issue with the compressor and the way the evaporator coil is connected to the compressor. Even if you have a warranty, they will only replace the compressor. Slowly it will leak; and it will take just long enough where the LG repair warranty will run out. I am in over $5k into this fridge. That's not including at least $1k in food loss. The 4th compressor install tech said the other repairmen should have fixed the other manufacturing defect the first time they came out since this was known for years. I will never buy and LG appliance ever again.
