Bought two of these within a week of each other, and was very careful when transporting & setting up. The first unit displayed a EH61 error (not in the manual, but its a bad internal pipe temp sensor) immediately upon plugging in, and Midea support recommended we return and replace - so, we did. However: the second unit's blower fan started rattling and screeching within 5 minutes of being plugged in and couldn't cool a 170 sq ft room past 72, so we opted to return that one, as well.

I've had this Midea inverter for almost 2 years now (going on our third hot summer). Zero complaints. This unit works great, and one major advantage is how quiet it is. Its installed in a bedroom one of my family members sleeps in, so its quiet enough for that environment. Theres a youtube video thats done very well that shows you how to install it, so I'm not understanding the complants about lack of instructions. One change I made was installing the foam on the panels instead of on the window, because pulling the adhesive-backed foam off the window when storing the unit for winter leaves a sticky mess on your window frame. I recommend this unit. About to buy 2 more for my in-laws.

I've had this for about 2 months, half the time you can't even tell it's running is do quiet. It's a dual inverter, my electric bill went down this year. The single/dual tube is great, it allows the exhaust, the smaller middle tube which can extend further than the outside tube, to get the heat out and away all while pulling fresh air in, and not from another room or leaky window so you'll have no negative pressure running this machine. I was worried about water, or having to drain it, not with this machine. You set it and forget it, and you'll forget it as it's very quiet. The only thing that bothers me with this machine, not enough to remove a star, the app has some units in fahrenheit and others in celsius. If you want, you can use the Toshiba app with it, that fixed my issue, it's nice to know that you have options. I should have bought the 4 in 1, it has heat, I would use this machine year round. My only regret is I didn't look into Midea sooner and find the 4 in 1 as this machine is great. Super easy to clean and setup. I would highly recommended it and I'd buy it again. In the app it says expect 6-8 years out of it, if I get that, well I'd be extremely happy. This machine replaced a window unit that was under sized for the room it was in, just wish I replaced it sooner. Stop reading and buy it!

This unit looks nice and cools well. However, immediately upon switching it into cooling mode a very high frequency ear piercing sound is noticeable above the hum of the fan. It stops immediately when you switch it into regular fan mode but starts again as soon as it's put back into cooling mode. Seems to be coming from inside the unit. I've only had it for 1 day now and I'm not sure I can deal with that if continues again tomorrow. Yikes. Also please note that most of the reviews for this product are paid or a result of a promotion.

It's weighs about 80 pounds but has wheels for easy portability and it looks great in the room and sturdy. This product comes with a very nice remote control and an easy to install and use app that allows me to control the air conditioner via wifi. The only installation requirement is to set up your windows with the attachments provided and you can do that easily by looking at the manual (but social media videos are even easier). As soon as the device is turned on you can enjoy the powerful airflow from Midea DUO 10,000 BTU SACC Smart Inverter Portable Air Conditioner that makes the air 10 degrees cooler and more comfortable in less than 1 hour. We live in the desert Southwest and have central air. In order to cool the master bedroom off enough to sleep we had to cool the entire house down to 72 degrees from our normal setting of 80. This unit is quiet, efficient and surprisingly easy to set up. Our electric usage has dropped dramatically. I cool the bedroom down to 70 while leaving the rest of the house at 78 at night. It has paid for itself, I sleep next to the unit and it is exceptionally quiet compared to a window unit. A best buy for sure!

So far, it's working well to cool a moderate sized room. Humidity here is high, and after about 10 hours of use it still does not appear to have a full condensation reservoir. I'd buy it again, though I'm disappointed in the lack of an online user/installation manual.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this in my den at 10am on a 90 degree (Tennessee) day. I left to run errands. Upon returning at 3pm, there was an amazingly huge difference. It is easy to use, quiet, and has superb air flow. I've already purchased a smaller one to put in my storage shed.

Bought this on a Friday and by Monday I returned it due to the clips both holding the adapter clamshell together and those holding the adapter into the window being too weak to hold. When I was able to actually get them to hold in place the unit worked fine but took forever to cool my 150 sq ft room. It ran all the time. Chatted with support to see if I could get replacement hose connections but they said it would take 2 months.

The midea duo is a solid portable unit that definitely cools a room. It has a good amount of pieces and the installation did take awhile. I would totally say it was worth it. It isn't loud so that is nice. The remote comes in handy and easy for a child to work on their own. I would definitely recommend!
