Works very well, installation not the easiest and the instructions are not the clearest.

I am very pleased with the portable AC, it works great. I have been using it for several weeks. The design that causes the condensation to evaporate by passing over the hot coils seems to work as I have not had to drain water. The only thing I would have liked is some sort of screen for the vent. We have bees and other flying pests that find open areas around the house. I did not feel comfortable with the open vent. I figured a regular screen might create some airflow resistance so I used 1/4" hardware cloth that I had on hand to cover the vent as a deterrent before I installed it in the window. In my opinion, the manufacturer should provide something for this purpose.

Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It's cooling well and is pretty quiet; seems to be quite efficient. As another reviewer noted, though, despite the insulation and foam included (thank you) to seal around the window, the hose has a pretty significant air gap where it connects to the window slider opening. I used the adapter for sliding window installation, I don't know if that made any difference, but it seems like that should be a much better fitting connection. It was also a bit difficult to get the hose securely snapped into the opening. Another thing I want to mention is that the physical dimensions listed on your website are not correct. The little diagram on the right shows the correct width, depth, and height, but the numbers on list on the left don't match. And the weight listed is wrong. I was hoping to get a lighter weight unit and this is listed on the website at 55.12 pounds, but its net weight is actually 72.75 pounds. Big difference!

The single-hung windows in my living room are really narrow, so I couldn't fit a normal window air conditioner in them. I installed this portable air conditioner in less than 20 minutes after reading the instructions and watching the video (so a lot easier to install than a window air conditioner). This was a good solution, as this air conditioner works well to cool down my open-beam living room. I did figure out that I had open the upper drain hole and let it drain condensed water into a bucket, otherwise it started to leak into my floors (probably because it's humid here, or my children were running it on "dry" mode). According to the box it was in, the CEER is 12.3, so not as energy efficient as a window air conditioner, but probably good for a portable air conditioner. (In the bedroom we have the Midea 8,000 BTU U-shaped inverter window air conditioner, and it has a CEER of 15, which is excellent.) On the highest fan setting it's pretty noisy (much louder in comparison to the U-shaped window air conditioner), but it's just a low hum on the lowest setting. We can still hear the television on high fan setting, but it's noticeable, so we usually drop it down to medium or low when watching TV.

The hose was a bit tough to insert in the window slider since the 4 clips don't seem to hold as snugly as they should. The instructions were helpful for assembly and installation. The unit is pretty quiet. We like the feature where the vent can be taken off oscillation and stay fixed at a desired spot.

My central HVAC went out on the hotest days of 25 so far. I had one smaller unit in my shop that I put in my bedroom for the night so I could sleep. Then I ordered this for PU the next morning. It kept the main room at about 78⁰ while the sun was up, but overnight would get it down to 68⁰ by the morning. With a fan it was cooling about 600 sqft, the rest of the house was closed off. I usually set my TV volume at around 17 depending on content. With this unit running I had to set it at 57 just to be able to hear over this unit. In addition with my central unit I usually use about 35 kwh a day, during the 4 day outage waiting for repairs I used on average 55 kwh. So it uses more power and is unbelievably loud, but it works in an emergency. I use them in my shop and with air compressors, power tools, engines, etc., it's an okay portable solution. But I have two of these now, they're really for emergency use only. If I want to work in the shop and it's really hot out, this will lower the temperature about 15-20 degrees and with afan make it pleasant to work out there. Without it I would have to stay inside as with the extreme heat I've had a heat stroke before and they're no fun.

The “instructions” WERE NOT user friendly. Then, this morning when I turned it back on the LED display had “AP” - I had to download the manual into Adobe and do a search before I found a notation on PAGE 22 with the answer. The “manual” IS NOT model specific and should be. Cools - to what I expected.

Great AC, but not as portable as I though it might be. I have portable ACs in the past that could be wheeled around easily from room to room. This one is a bit heavy and cumbersome to set up to be truly portable. On the other hand, it cools great. Or at least it did until I made the connection to the included remote. I couldn't get the AC and the remote to work together well. I finally became frustrated, unplugged the AC, and took the batteries out of the remote to kill that connection so that I could operate the AC manually. I was not happy with that ordeal. I wanted to return it, since it was not exactly what I wanted, but I learned that there was only a 48 hour return period. Now, I'm stuck with an AC that I don't want. I'm a bit angry about that because it wasn't cheap. I won't be making purchases like this online from Sam's club again. I mean 48 hours? Really?

I bought this unit in hopes of keeping my master bedroom 10° cooler than the rest of the house. I only use it at night and I'm only looking for the room to be 77°. I don't think these are wild demands personally. This unit can't count cope with it. It worked fine from March until late June, and then it abruptly stopped cooling the room. What it seems to do is run the compressor for 1.5 minutes and the air that it produces is cool. It's around 70 which is cool in our hot climate. The problem is 1.5 minutes of cooling with another five minutes of the unit recovering and cooling down is never gonna get the room to 77. It's never gonna get the room to 80 when it is 85 or 86 outside, that's been what I've been observing with it. Also the side of the unit that is responsible for exhausting error the air that comes out that gets to about 130°. I just wonder if this thing is overheating either way it's not gonna cool my room when it's 100° outside and like I said I'm not looking for crazy levels of cool. I'm not looking for the room to be 70 or 60 or anything like that I'm just looking for like 77 to 80 it can't do it. So if you're in a warm climate like Texas, you're gonna have to buy a different unit. I've had much cheaper offbrand units that have done much better job than this one has when it actually gets hot so it works until it's actually hot and then it just dies.

Worked fine until it didnt. I haven't had it for more than a month and the inside circuit board started glitching and kept resetting the air conditioner every 5 minutes. I performed a hard reset by unplugging the air conditioner from the outlet for a couple hours and RIP. Won't turn on. Now I have to disassemble the whole unit from the window and drag the heavy unit down two flight of stairs to load in to my car. Sams will refund me the money but since I paid for it at a discounted price I now have to pay full price because of the cheap quality of product. Absolutely horrible product. Biggest regret i made to buy a brand ive never heard of.
