This unit looks nice and cools well. However, immediately upon switching it into cooling mode a very high frequency ear piercing sound is noticeable above the hum of the fan. It stops immediately when you switch it into regular fan mode but starts again as soon as it's put back into cooling mode. Seems to be coming from inside the unit. I've only had it for 1 day now and I'm not sure I can deal with that if continues again tomorrow. Yikes. Also please note that most of the reviews for this product are paid or a result of a promotion.

I've had this for about 2 months, half the time you can't even tell it's running is do quiet. It's a dual inverter, my electric bill went down this year. The single/dual tube is great, it allows the exhaust, the smaller middle tube which can extend further than the outside tube, to get the heat out and away all while pulling fresh air in, and not from another room or leaky window so you'll have no negative pressure running this machine. I was worried about water, or having to drain it, not with this machine. You set it and forget it, and you'll forget it as it's very quiet. The only thing that bothers me with this machine, not enough to remove a star, the app has some units in fahrenheit and others in celsius. If you want, you can use the Toshiba app with it, that fixed my issue, it's nice to know that you have options. I should have bought the 4 in 1, it has heat, I would use this machine year round. My only regret is I didn't look into Midea sooner and find the 4 in 1 as this machine is great. Super easy to clean and setup. I would highly recommended it and I'd buy it again. In the app it says expect 6-8 years out of it, if I get that, well I'd be extremely happy. This machine replaced a window unit that was under sized for the room it was in, just wish I replaced it sooner. Stop reading and buy it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to Midea for sending me a inverter portable air conditioner 10,000 BTU/h for free to review! 1. I really appreciated the way Midea designed the box! I was able to just slide the top off and not have to lift the air conditioner up and out of the box! 2. I loved that the instructions included QR codes to watch instructional videos on how to set up the air conditioner. 3. I have a vertical window and was amazed by how easy the set up was. You do have to cut several pieces of foam and tape but it wasn't hard. Once we had the window plate installed all that was left to do was connect the hose to the window! The hose is stiff. I had to pull up on it as my husband tried to clip it into the window plate. 4. We plugged it in and pressed power. We immediately heard a loud clicking. It was very loud and sounded like the air conditioner was going to break. We could see something white flying around in the fan blades. We shut the power off with hopes of trying to retrieve whatever was flying around inside. The problem was once you shut down power the automatic fan swing closes and you can't manually move it. We turned power back on and luckily the flying object ricocheted onto a small ledge inside. We were able to carefully get it out and that solved the noise problem! If we had not been able to retrieve that plastic piece we would not have been able to use the air conditioner as the noise was so loud and annoying. 5. we turned it back on and was pleasantly suprised with how quiet it was even with the fan on high. 6. I love the inverter! I took the air conditioner outside to drain after running it solid for 3 days even though it didn't have the empty code yet. there was maybe 1/4 cup of water in it. The inverter really works well and pulls the water and hot air out through the double hose. All in all I love this air conditioner. If Midea could investigate their manufacturing process and remedy what's going on with that little plastic piece I wouldn't have 1 complaint

easy install, plug in and cold air! used 24/7 for hottest month. PERFECT!

Cold air, but very low air flow. Could not feel it 10 feet away. Returned.

Bought next model up and thermostat doesn't work....going to return it.

It is very quiet, but at times, it just doesn't blow very cold, other times works great
