This mattress replaced our pillow top Stearns & Foster mattress. The pillow top was comfortable at first but after the break-in period of about the first 2-3 years the pillow top was not as comfortable nor gave me the back support that I really needed. After 2 back surgeries I really needed a more firm type of support and pillow top is not it. This mattress totally surprised me! When it arrived in a long rectangle box I thought....... did I order a water bed or air mattress?? Well it is a heavy mattress and thank goodness we opened it and set it up on our box springs frame instead of the floor. I think that it is recommended to wait 1-2 days for the mattress to fully expand and its shape. Well we couldn't wait so we slept on it the first night and it was awesome! The gel layer and memory foam on top just feels so cool and comfortable. I use to toss and turn all night on the old mattress trying to find a comfortable position to sleep but would wake with a stiff and painful back. But not anymore! I sure hope that my review helps for those who may be looking for a good supporting mattress. And one more thing to mention is that for us menopausal women, the cool gel top layer is great!

I had high hopes for this mattress, based on reviews on the site and from family. I gave it 3 stars for ease of ordering, the quick delivery, and customer service from the people I have talked to since ordering. The first night I woke up feeling like I was on a bed of coals. I thought maybe it was me, so kept the house cold and the second night it was the same way. Every night I sleep on this bed it feels like the burning bed. So frustrating, because it is very comfortable. I have a thick mattress pad on top and it has only slightly alleviated the problem. I just can't take the heat anymore. I know it's not night sweats, because I don't wake up in a sweat, just extremely hot, like I'm laying on a heating pad set too high.

I weigh 240 pounds and have had this Mattress for 2 months now and am still in love with it...Delivery was great , once it came out of the box it was ready to go in less than 15 minutes and there was no smell that i have seen posted on here, its firm but not to hard and definitely cool. I am going to give this matress another 6 months and if its as good as it is today i will purchase a queen size for the spare bedroom....

Have problem with back and neck bought expensive pillow top and could not sleep on it - gave it to family member. Used inexpensive mattress given to us until we purchased this mattress. We both love it - husband could not sleep for more than 5 hours now he has no problem sleeping longer and wakes up with no back pain - same with me. Great mattress.

I have suffered from back pain for years and have tried several mattresses with this one being at the top. I sleep well and wake with no back pain Shipping was on time and the chemical smell took about three days to dissipate. We used the bed the same day we got it and it fully expanded within two days. I would buy this product again. I picked this bed due to the reviews on this website and am not disappointed. It's a little soft when you first lay down then your body adjusts and the mattress feels firm

I was reluctant to buy a mattress on line but it is amazing!! I have back problems and have been sleeping on a mattress sandwiched between two pieces of plywood with a mattress topper. My wife hated it but it was the only way that I could sleep. The first night I slept like a baby. It is the perfect balance between hard and comfort. When you get out of bed you don't bother the other person. It is very comfortable, supportive and provides a great night's sleep. It is probably a little on the hard side but if you want firm this is perfect. I definitely would buy it again and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We've had this mattress for a few weeks now and it's still comfortable. It does have a faint scent - so I'd suggest letting it air out for a bit. It also takes two (normal-sized) people to carry the box, due to its bulky size. The bed expanded in minutes - I'd suggest putting it on your box spring, then cut the plastic. Anyhow, the bed was very comfortable. I'm mainly a belly/side sleeper and I no longer have pinch points in my arms. I'm not much of a back sleeper because of the pain inner springs caused - but with this bed I was able to lay on my back for quite a while and never had any pain! This bed is truly comparable (if not better) than the Tempur beds. This bed does hold in some heat, especially if you have someone else sleeping in it with you... but it's not nearly as bad as other foam beds. As for my size, I'm 170 and I don't sink in too much. The sides will give away to you so you can't sleep right on the side... but this should be obvious since the entire bed is foam. Someone previously pointed out that this mattress is not firm. I would somewhat disagree - but it really depends on how big you are. If you're normal size/weight - it will be moderately firm at first. If you're bigger, it probably won't be as firm as an innerspring. All-in-all, I would recommend (and already have) this mattress. It's also worth taking the risk to buy it online - if you don't like it, you can always take it back to your local Sam's club or call them to possibly have it picked up!

We should have taped the whole process of getting the mattress upstairs and into the bedroom. Then the hilarious part of removing the wrap around the mattress. As soon as we started to open the plastic the mattress started to expand and my husband was trying to rip off the wrap as fast as possible. The mattress expands quickly! There really wasn't much of an odor but just to be on the safe side we turned on the air purifier and closed the bedroom door for the night. We slept downstairs. The next day I couldn't detect any odor and I have all kinds of migraine triggers, no problems what so ever. Slept on the new mattress the night after we received it. Husband and I both slept really well. I would say that it took us less that a week to completely adjust to the memory foam mattress as opposed to our old traditional mattress. I had a tendency to sleep really close to the edge of the mattress and I don't do that any more as the mattress really gives if you are next to the edge. It's hard to explain because the mattress overall has a LOT MORE SUPPORT than a traditional mattress; just don't expect that firmness at the edges. I have a lot of hip pain when I lie down. I won't say that this new mattress has allowed me to sleep pain free but I do sleep better and feel much better when I get up. My husband is really liking the new mattress and he really did not want a memory foam mattress! Here are a couple more items of interest if you have never slept on memory foam. It does sleep warmer but not hot! We got our new mattress in the middle of the summer and have no complaints. We live in Maine (yes, it does get hot here) and the winters are COLD so we used a mattress warmer on the traditional mattress. You can't use one with this type of mattress. As far as I can tell the memory foam seems to take any heat from your body and send it back to your body to keep you warm. Yet it doesn't make you hot. Regular mattress pads are not recommended as far as the "experts" say. There was an article that I read about some guy doing a study to find the best mattress pad to use with memory foam mattresses and he came up with two brands. One is next to impossible to find. The other is carried by quite a few places but you have to shop around for the best price. The mattress pad is called Protect a Bed and you would not know you were sleeping on anything extra. It is made so that it does not mess with the features of a memory foam mattress. I did a lot of research on memory foam mattresses. It took me several days and a lot of reading to decide this was the right mattress for us. This is an awesome value.

My husband and I had a pillowtop and I have always had beck problems. I would wake up throughout the night and with back pain in the mornings. We have had this mattress for about 2 weeks now and it is awesome. I wake up without back pain and I get a better nights rest. I was amazed at how great the price was and I was thinking it was too go to be true but I love it. I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone.

I was like every one else. Didn't want to buy online without trying it out first. We have tried so many mattresses and decided just to go ahead and buy it based on most all the reviews were great! It does smell a little.. About 2 or 3 days after it went away. But my son says it smells like markers. We were going to pay much much more in other stores on a regular mattresses so we decided to treat ourselves with a memory foam. The first night I woke up with no pains!UNBELIEVABLE., also a mayor department store sells this same mattress for about $900 so very much worth the price. I'm more the plushy person so when I got in mattress I thought this is not so plushy but sleep in it and wait you will sleep like a baby! Now my mom is ordering this same bed.. Awesome! Oh and it also came in about a wk from when I ordered...just unroll it and see it rise.
