- 5 out of 5 stars review3/16/2021Originally we bought a 14x10 Somerville Pergola for an outdoor seating are by the pool, but after it was erected we liked it so much we bought an identical 2nd one, and when combined they will make a very nice 28x20 Orchid House with electricity for misting & heating. However, we still needed that outdoor seating area, so we bought a 14x10 Cordova Gazebo also. The fit & finish are excellent, and the they offer excellent value.

The sale price at Sam's Club was a great deal also. We hired an installer that also does installs for Sam's Club and they did a great job at about 1/3 of the cost that Sam's Club charges.

We were soon contacted by backyard discovery. The delivery came earlier than expected l, which was a good thing and then install was within a couple of days. The pergola is sturdy and looks great. We have added shades to the sides and to the top so that we can enjoy it during our hot Texas days as well as cool days. Love it.

However, anchoring it to my existing concrete slab has become a nightmare! I followed the directions exactly, but a 3/16” pilot hole drilled plenty deep enough for the supplied screws does not get the job done. I’ve vacuumed out the holes and still the screws won’t go more that halfway into the concrete. It’s very frustrating to be so close, but be unable to finish the anchoring process.

The product is incredible. The wood is of a very high quality. Instructions are clear and assembly is simple. Probably about a 4 hour project if you are efficient. Would suggest sealing prior to assembly. The plan is to train wisteria to grow over the top and I have know concerns for the structural integrity of it

I love that it comes with a power outlet which makes it a breeze adding string lights to it. You can sit and enjoy nature; or bring alexa out, plug it in to the outlet, enjoy enjoy some music with a glass of wine. It ceates a wonderful place to relax.

The pergola took my nephew about 4 hours to assemble. There were a couple of boards that were scratched from delivery. I called customer service and they immediately offered me a touch up stain. Two of the boards had a split and they sent out replacements ASAP! Not only is the product prefect for my space but the customer service was the BEST I have encountered.

I haven't seen any warping or fade spots. You will definitely need more than one person to install. It was a breeze with four people. Just make sure you have a level surface to start and pay attention to detail. I used the instruction manual instead of the app to install. For me it was easier following the steps in the manual.

It took them about 6 hours to do which I think could have been done in less time if the pieces had some kind of labeling on it. It was kind of confusing to figure out which piece the directions were talking about. Also some of the holes didn’t line up with the other ones when connecting it together. Overall though it is a very nice and sturdy pergola and a perfect addition to our patio.

It has enhanced the beauty of our home. It provides a beautiful family gathering place. We added a king size sheet to the center for extra shade until are honeysuckles grow up into the roof of the Pergola. I especially like the multi level top; the cross beams are aesthetically pleasing. Using multiple kids gave us the opportunity to see that not all holes pre-drilled holes lined up and it’s difficult to get them perfectly squared. We tried hanging hammock chairs from the frame and that was too much weight and had to remove those. Overall very pleased with the look of the three pergolas side-by-side. We found it easier to use two jacks to lift up the pergola and move it in order get the pergola where we wanted it before securing the cement braces. Very pleased with how it came out. The price was absolutely unbelievable!!! We had an electrician rewire our panel and do some under ground electric and it is seamless! The quality is absolutely amazing and we are telling everyone the have to purchase this one! It’s one of those deals that seems too good to be true but it’s totally not! Perfect for pool parties and lounging and has been the best backyard addition for our family!

It was gorgeous and the best purchase we could have ever made. It went together nicely with the help of 3 adults. It was solid and very well made. I believe that this helped us get top dollar for our home. I miss it greatly and only wish I could have a new one for my new home. I would not hesitate to purchase this as it is made to last. We put a waterproof wood sealant on it per from the manufacturer. I got so many compliments on this beautiful structure. You will not be disappointed in your purchase. Backyard Discovery SOMERVILLE was a perfect fit and I love the barnwood stain color. The electricity hookup feature is an added bonus. At night the stringed lights we added give a warm, soft glow.

The ambiance is quite beautiful and it is a great addition to our yard. It is pretty easy to assemble with two people. Of course, read your instructions and plan your assembly. It can be easy to confuse your pieces and the perspective in the diagrams so be careful. It took one day to assemble everything. There are a few extra hardware screws and washers included, which is great. You also might need a step ladder to hold up a key piece with a two person team to make it easier to bolt down. Only complaint is the directions need to be clearer about orientation of the pieces as we put together certain sections and realized after the fact that pre drilled holes were on other sides etc. also some of the wood was warped and made it difficult to align holes at time. But all in all we’re very happy and pleased with the pergola.
