- 5 out of 5 stars review6/2/2022I purchased this pergola several months back but had to wait for my brother to come into town before I could set it up. Took about a day and a half for us (65 & 69) to get it set up. Not difficult at all. Added some lattice on the top and I now have some extra shade on my house.

It needed something, so we searched got the perfect Pergola. We found it with Sommerville! From ordering to receiving it everything went perfectly. It took my husband and son 5 1/2 hours to assemble and put it up. It looks beautiful. We also love that there is a built in electrical outlet.

The instructions in the app were clear and easy to follow. Normally when assembling things, I’ll make a mistake or two and have to disassemble and reassemble parts. This wasn’t an issue due to the interactive nature of the app. The existing finish was adequate, and I added another two coats of stain to be sure that it was protected. It’s been up for about 8 months, and it looks just as good today as it did when I assembled it. This is a good sign since the sun in Phoenix can be brutal. Of course, I can’t say how it holds up in wet environments. I’m thinking about trying to order another set of small slats for the top to increas...

The BILT app simplifies this so use it don’t use the paper instructions. The only thing that the BILT app lacks is it doesn’t point out all the pre drilled wholes and it really should because it really sets you back if you miss it. Other than that I would build this app over again!

We were soon contacted by backyard discovery. The delivery came earlier than expected l, which was a good thing and then install was within a couple of days. The pergola is sturdy and looks great. We have added shades to the sides and to the top so that we can enjoy it during our hot Texas days as well as cool days. Love it.

The pergola took my nephew about 4 hours to assemble. There were a couple of boards that were scratched from delivery. I called customer service and they immediately offered me a touch up stain. Two of the boards had a split and they sent out replacements ASAP! Not only is the product prefect for my space but the customer service was the BEST I have encountered.

The plan is to train wisteria to grow over the top and I have know concerns for the structural integrity of it

We liked it so much we bought another one for our side yard! We sealed it before putting it up, and the assembly was pretty straightforward. We had one piece that splintered a little and their customer service was fabulous.

It really elevated the look of our yard, and we receive so many compliments on it. It took about 3 of use to put it together and some patience, but it was doable. I am so happy with our purchase, it is exactly what I was looking for. It should be noted that there are a few flaws here and there in the wood, but nothing major. It is to be expected when something is real wood versus pressed board.

I haven't seen any warping or fade spots. You will definitely need more than one person to install. It was a breeze with four people. Just make sure you have a level surface to start and pay attention to detail. I used the instruction manual instead of the app to install. For me it was easier following the steps in the manual.

It has enhanced the beauty of our home. It provides a beautiful family gathering place. We added a king size sheet to the center for extra shade until are honeysuckles grow up into the roof of the Pergola. I especially like the multi level top; the cross beams are aesthetically pleasing. Using multiple kids gave us the opportunity to see that not all holes pre-drilled holes lined up and it’s difficult to get them perfectly squared. We tried hanging hammock chairs from the frame and that was too much weight and had to remove those. Overall very pleased with the look of the three pergolas side-by-side. We have them standing on a composite wood deck ...

The directions were a little hard to read but if you played with Legos you should be able to set this up easily. The unit was very heavy and stable even without the use of concrete anchors. I would recommend this product to others.

I'd dreamt of having this pergola in my yard for about ten years, and it's everything I'd hoped for! You definitely need multiple people to put it together, and I highly recommend getting footers poured so you can secure it. My husband had four friends come over for a "barn raising" of sorts, and that was super helpful. It's stood up to all kinds of weather, including some seriously high wind gusts. It's just gorgeous! We added market lights (that power box is super handy) and put down pavers below for a real oasis.

It adds the perfect structural element to our new backyard concrete patio. Hang some lights for some fabulous night time ambiance. The only negative I would have to say - the instructions say 2-3 people to assemble, but I was happy we had a 4th person to help with the step where you have to stand the very heavy leg posts up; that part was really tricky and impossible for us with only 3 people. Otherwise the assembly was straight forward. We are very happy with our purchase!

We have high winds in Tennessee, but it withstood all the storms and wind. I sealed the wood with protectant to prevent pests and rotting. It was easy to construct, the direction were valuable and I am satisfied with the beautiful Somerville Pergola I sit under in my back yard.
