Change in design causes bolts not to fit

- 4 out of 5 stars review7/27/2023Purchased this Pergola on-line, it was delivered in multiple boxes. We have a long steep driveway and the delivery company dropped the boxes at the bottom of the driveway. Not acceptable since other companies have delivered to our doorstep. For the price the pergola is good value for money. The instructions are easy to follow and for the most part it fits together fairly easily. Its a 2 person job and I was able to assemble it over the weekend with my wife. Some of the bolts used to hold the base to the top are a bit short, longer bolts would make it easier to assemble and provide more threads for the nuts to hold on to. We live in southern CA and the slats provide some shade, I recommend adding a Pergola Shade Cover for additional protecti...

I have looked out the widow every day, all winter long, looking forward to being able to sit outside and enjoy it! Finally, that time is here. We were able to sit outside yesterday and have dinner in the evening in our pergola. I love the bonus that there is an outlet. We hung some very cute Edison bulb lights that really add to the charm and ambiance! So happy with this purchase!

Construction and build was straight forward. I over torqued one bolt and cracked a support arm. They quickly sent out a replacement. HIGHLY recommend also treating with a water sealer before you build.

Its beautiful and sturdy. It has a electrical outlet so I can plug in lights ,margarita machine... I had the company assemble it and was done within 2 hours. They were wonderful. Every day after work I spend about 3 hours there enjoying it! My only regret is not getting it SOONER! If u like it on website, you will love it in your yard. YOU WONT REGRET IT! We removed the items, and laid them out by number on the garage floor to make sure all the parts were there. Due to shipping damage to the box, one set of screws was missing, and one small 2 x 2 rafter board was broken. I called Sams customer service, and they had replacement items shipped right away. This unit is nice quality, and comes with an easy to read assembly instructions. You need to seal this pergola, so we decided to seal all the boards before they were assembled....easier than painting on a ladder.. We used Thompsons water seal, clear, and our unit still looks brand new. I would recommend that if you are not young and very strong, that you hire someon...

Putting together takes 2 people for sure. Just make sure you layout everything before assembling. I wanted to elevate mine so took some extra time. Would purchase again for sure.

Instructions are clear and assembly is simple. Probably about a 4 hour project if you are efficient. Would suggest sealing prior to assembly. The plan is to train wisteria to grow over the top and I have know concerns for the structural integrity of it

We were soon contacted by backyard discovery. The delivery came earlier than expected l, which was a good thing and then install was within a couple of days. The pergola is sturdy and looks great. We have added shades to the sides and to the top so that we can enjoy it during our hot Texas days as well as cool days. Love it.

The cardboard wrapping around the product (there were two long boxes) was heavy duty thereby protecting the product from shipping damage. There was no damage. That wonderful smell of fresh cedar permeated the room so I new the product was of good exterior quality. When we opened the boxes, it looked like some sort of AI (artificial intelligence) had packed them. A work of art in itself. I began to realize that this pergola package might be of high quality after inspecting the hardware. It was heavy and of high quality, individually labeled and it was all there. There were also paper instructions concerning the assembly which were reasonable but a hair intimidating. ...

It really has made our backyard the sanctuary we wanted it to be! The price was absolutely unbelievable!!! We had an electrician rewire our panel and do some under ground electric and it is seamless! The quality is absolutely amazing and we are telling everyone the have to purchase this one! It’s one of those deals that seems too good to be true but it’s totally not! My only complain would be that the stain comes off easily we have quite a few spots the stain is just missing in which is frustrating but can easily be fixed with a coat of stain.

Backyard Discovery SOMERVILLE was a perfect fit and I love the barnwood stain color. The electricity hookup feature is an added bonus. At night the stringed lights we added give a warm, soft glow.

Like most pergolas it provides wonderful shade in the morning and early evening, and dappled shade from about 11 to 2. This dapples shade is still more comfortable than full exposure. Plus the pergola makes my outdoor kitchen area look so very cozy.
