The best thing at Sam's Club!

I could live on pizza, and I just might now that I found these. I bought a case to make pizza at home and it is literally the best thing I've ever purchased at Sam's Club. I love pizza but I pretty much hate frozen pizza anymore. There are some OK ones out there, but at the end of the day they taste like frozen pizza. They cost a lot for what you get. I've tried making my own dough a couple of times with zero success compared to pizza you would get from a shop. I happened to see these, not the dough dough balls but 14" flattened pizza doughs. So I got them home and went to work. You have to be careful as they break/shatter easily. I was able to "glue" one back together after it thawed. I thawed out a crust for an hour or so and it didn't rise at all in that time. I was too afraid to pick it up so I ended just making a 14" pizza on a pan at 425 for 15 minutes. It ended up OK, but the dough was a little uncooked on the top and it seemed unnatural. I have a 16" non-stick perforated pizza pan that works great for these. That's the goal, fresh dough thin crust 16" pizza. The next time I put the dough on a pan covered in the included plastic and put it in the refrigerator overnight. I then used a pastry roller to move dough from the center and picked it up just to give it a small stretch. It stretched to 16" with no problem whatsoever, no tears, holes, or thin spots. You could probably get away with an 18" thin crust if you wanted to, but my oven only holds a 16" pan. This time the pizza looked, smelled, and tasted like it came from a pizza shop. I was thrilled. Finally, great pizza at home! The next time I'm going to try flouring my hands and tossing it a little without any rolling. I also plan to turn up the heat to 500 to see how that does. These crusts taste fantastic and you could do anything you want with them, not just pizza, stromboli or calzones for example would be a snap. They're worth every penny and the box fit surprisingly well in my upright freezer. If you have a big family or just love pizza like I do get a box, you won't regret it.

Nice dough

We let this thaw on the counter for about 2 hours and it was excellent to work with! We baked it on a hot pizza stone at 445 for 15 minutes and it came out beautiful and delicious! Could have stretched it to a thin crust but then it would not have fit the pan. As it was, it was a normal crust thickness. Brushed some seasonings and butter on the crust after it came out. Can't beat that price!

bring back the dough balls

these seem to be not of the same quality as the dough balls sold previously. The only reason I think they switched them is that this is what they use in the fresh pizza's in the warehouse so it saves them a step. Sad because I will have get them at a US Chef store now.

members mark frozen pizza dough

There are NO INSTRUCTIONS in this. I finally called the company myself after trying Sams (they had no idea). So guys this is how you bake them:-You need a 16 inch pizza , then place frozen dough on greased pan. Cover. Thaw in frig overnight. Then shape to the 16 inch pan. Add toppings. Let sit to rise 15-30 minutes on counter. Bake at 420 degree oven (oven temps vary here). Bake on bottom rack - check half way through baking-if it gets too dark move to top rack. Bake for 15-18 minutes. The sitting to rise is what will make it crispy! I asked them to please let the company know to add the instructions for people. He said he would. So, guys- hope this helps! The Correct way is using this dough

At First I was not really happy with this product.(Since they don't carry dough balls anymore} You would put it on a pizza stone add Sauce,Cheese and whatever and the pie would get bubbles and the Dough would not taste that great. But to do it right have a Scale and cut the Dough after 1 hour in 3 pieces. Each one should be around 8oz(Use 1 and store the other 2 aways} Now I use the BEST pizza cheese (Grande}and Best Sauce (Tomato Magic} And I am able to get a Thin 14 inch pizza that taste greattttt. And have 2 extra Doughs for future pies. To me thats the best way to do it unless you are like many others that use this product and put Cheap cheese like Polly-O or other cheap brands..If you are going to make a pizza Cut it into 3 dough balls..............

Great & Easy

All the people putting bad reviews don't know what they're doing. Set it out, put your sauce and toppings on and pop in the oven while still frozen. 400-450 depending on how many toppings (lower for more toppings).Comes out great. Don't believe the naysayers. They probably struggle with noodles.

pleasantly surprised

First time making pizza from scratch, including my own sauces, I defrosted one pizza sheet in fridge overnight, cut in half folded each one into itself to form a ball, placed on a pan covered with a damp towel and placed in the oven for about 3.5 hours (do not turn the oven on) to let rise. Punched flat and rolled each dough ball into about a 10 to 12 inch flat, placed my toppings on and cooked on my Kamado Joe pit at 420 for 15 minutes. They were perfect. I made on with pizza sauce and one with Alfredo sauce and the Alfredo sauce was the best!. Don’t forget to use flour when working the dough.

Make a ball. Let it rise.

if you don’t prepare the dough correctly it will come out poorly. Think of the flat sheet of dough as a future dough ball. Cut it in half or thirds or quarters after it’s defrosted and gently make a dough ball folding the edges under multiple times. This will put air in it for the Sam’s fluffy crust. If you do it this way it will come out semi-Neapolitan. Lay it out on a lightly floured surface under a humid towel and let it rise for an hour and a half or two. It will be perfect. Then punch it down and stretch it out and you’re ready for your pizza. 420° for eight minutes will get you a perfect Sam’s pizza.
