Couch arrived broken

I finally got this together today and am very disappointed. I pulled the bed part out and it is not fully connected on the right side and it does not sit flat. My 8 pound Jack Russell walked on it near the seam between the sofa and the pull out bed and fell through the crack and then the cushin pushed right in and the opposite corner popped right up.i have no idea what to do now

Conflicted

I received my sofa on December 10th but actually set it up after the New Year and we absolutely love it, but we started having problems with the let out bed instantly and in March it completely broke to where we can’t use it. I mainly bought it for the let out bed. I really don’t know how to reach someone because I got a voicemail. So I’m conflicted because it’s nice but broken.

Frustrated
4 out of 5 stars review

Benefit of the doubt

The couch is everything I expected from reading the reviews. I’ve had it for a couple months. It IS firm which is okay which me due to the durability. I sleep on it several times a week when my daughter stays with me. It was the perfect size with the features I needed…sleeper and chase. However, the only reason I gave it 4 stars, EVERY time I pull it out, the sleeper goes off track and I have to spend time/energy muscling it back on the track! it’s frustrating. It’s not an assembly issue or owner error. It has nothing to do with how you put it together. Maybe something happened in shipping. The box was totally beat up! Holes in the boxes that had been re-taped..etc. I only came across one other review that complained about the same problem. Maybe I’m just a small percentage people that have this problem. I’ve also read the vague and routine responses from the manufacturer…ie..we stand behind our product and if you need additional help please contact us… We’ll, if you stand behind your product, send someone out to me and fix this problem! With tax/fees it was almost $1,000. That’s a lot of money for me! I expected my product to be delivered without so many holes in the packaging, and for it to function properly. Again, the 4 stars was very generous! I do like the couch and fits my needs regardless.

Hi there, thank you for the great details in your review, this is helpful to hear! The sofa section once pulled out from under the sofa, is already in the proper placement. Once you lift the straps, the best way to open the sofa section is to pull VERTICALLY upwards, not outwards. If you pull upward, the bed will stay on it's track. Please try by pulling UP and then down again to secure, not diagonally towards you. On delivery, yes the products can endure damage with FedEx at times, it depends on how FedEx treats the products. We are in constant contact with them to improve transit issues. We would love to hear how the new technique works with the sofa bed! Do NOT buy this! Repeat: Do NOT buy this! My wife and I ordered this, and when we assembled it there was a defect in the left bed slide drawer type assembly that caused it to come all the way out. After multiple hours, tools, duct tape, and headaches, it is kind of working. However, for spending over $500, it is not worth the pain and toil of having to fix manufacturing defects. Again, please do NOT buy!!

Good for the price.

For perspective, we bought this couch to put in the playroom because my temper is at risk when kinetic sand or play doh get mashed into our living room couch. Price, shipping, and packaging. We bought this with $200 instant savings. The shipping was $20 and it seemed like great value. It arrived sooner than Sam’s Club had estimated, was delivered to my door by FedEx in two large boxes. In total, the couch is about 200 pounds. Definitely recommend having someone help you move it around. The packaging was really good. Something must have been leaking in the FedEx truck (laundry detergent or something) but it didn’t get through the box and inside the box the couch and its pieces were in giant plastic bags to protect them. Assembly. Assembly was reasonably easy and required NO tools. The only “assembly” you have to do is screwing the threaded couch feet into the bottom of the chaise and couch arms. This doesn’t require a screwdriver. The only other assembly was sliding the arms and chaise over the matching brackets (pre-installed). I was able to do it by myself, albeit with some less-than-impressive word choice, but with two people it would be pretty easy. Unpacked and setup in the playroom in under 20 minutes with just one person. Couch features. We’re a military family and we move every few years. A stress with buying something like this is: though it fits in this house, will it fit in our next house? The couch is small enough to work in a lot of locations but also big enough for us to cuddle up and watch “Encanto” for the thousandth time. The chaise can be moved to either side and the arms of the couch move to either side of the couch or chaise so no matter what configuration it looks like it’s the way it’s supposed to be. When I lay on the chaise side, my feet hang off (I’m 6 feet tall) but it’s not uncomfortable. I love the storage that is the entire length of the chaise. Here’s one more underrated feature: you remember how your grandma had a pullout couch (probably in a floral print on velour)? Remember how the couch had to be moved away from the wall to use the pullout? No? Just me? Well, this couch does not need to have space between it and the wall or be moved out to operate the pullout bed feature. This is a great feature for us since the playroom is really a smallish guest bedroom. When it’s in bed mode, I can’t lay between the arms of the couch (due to height) but I can fit, comfortably, on the non-arm part. It could comfortably sleep two, but the shorter person would have to be on the inside (between the couch arms/closer to the couch back cushions) and the taller person on the outside. Comfort. As noted above, we bought the couch for $699. It is $699 comfortable. If you’re shopping for a couch and expect this to be Tempur Pedic comfortable —it’s not. It’s a little firm, but it’s perfectly comfortable and seems like it will be very durable considering our daughters who seem to be part monkey. Would recommend this couch to friends/family.

Functional Furniture

My family needed a smaller couch for one of our rooms and this sectional worked perfectly. It is firm but functional which is why I purchased it. Also, there was a Black Friday special so that was a nice bonus. The pieces are interchangeable so I can reverse the layout. This is NOT a couch for little kids. The arms of the couch seem fragile but as a whole the couch feels stable. I am giving this item 4 out of 5 stars because of the difficulty sliding the arms on each side. However, overall I would recommend this piece if you have limited space and want a functional couch/bed for guests.

Hello, thank you for this review. Furniture tends to soften with time, so hopefully it gets squishier with use, but will still maintain its durability. The brackets need to be snug so they are a tight fit, but very secure once assembly is complete. Hope you enjoy this sectional for years to come! - The Abbyson team

Some great things, some disappointments

We ordered this Abbyson storage sectional with pullout bed in Nov. 2019. The storage for decorative pillows and blankets is awesome! It's easy to pull. We love that 5 of us can fit and put our feet up! In some ways it's been a perfect couch for our needs. However, there were some imperfect things about the couch! The back frame comes really low and the back-support cushions are made of flimsy-fiber fluff (seat cushions are made of comfy-firm foam). The back cushions come up about EIGHT inches higher than the frame. So right away your mid-back & shoulders have no support, straining your neck. It might not be a problem if you have a wall behind the couch, but we needed it in an open room. Next issue related to that is the back frame has 2 different heights, the couch and the chaise back frame are 2 separate pieces that attach, but our couch section is 2 inches lower than the chaise, giving us even LESS back support. This then causes the fluff-cushions to collapse & curl over the back of the frame which looks terrible. We noticed this happening within the first month and as much as I try to fluff them back, they still curl. Another problem we noticed also in the first month was a line of fraying fabric when we pulled out the bed. We called multiple times with all our contact information to the company to tell them about the 2" frame difference and the fraying, but never received any form of contact and this was before pandemic lockdown so they have no excuse. We investigated further into the cause of the fraying and found that there was a staple that was sticking straight out, gradually cutting the upholstery every time we pulled it out! So we removed it with pliers and that's fixed it, but the fray line is still there ready to split the fabric open at any moment. We're disappointed that customer service never made an attempt to contact us. I think this would be SUCH a great couch if they raised the frame for more back support to at least be flush with the cushion top.

Sounds like a dream

It looks good and sounds good on paper but this is more of a lazy day watching movies type of convertible sofa bed. There is a very noticeable gap that is uncomfortable and is not adequate for sleeping. The padding inside is very delicate that in 1 year of use, the padding bulged up on the long piece to one side. It wasnt even a preferred sitting location either. Not worth the price.

Very Disappointed

This sofa really doesn’t deserve a star (other than for the look)….It is hard, stiff and maintains uncomfortableness. The structure is very cheaply made and is mainly particle board-based with tough material to secure and cover. Doesn’t last. Poorly built as structure is NOT STURDY at all. Pull out doesn’t work to hold small children (3-6-8 age range and size) collapse middle of the night. This is poor and not worth spending the money for at all. I do not recommend buying, as you’re only paying for “the look”

Complements well to our Little Apartment

This Sectional fits perfectly in our 700 sq ft Apartment, and looks amazing. Delivery was very smooth and I was able to set it up in less than 30 mins. Seats are very firm ( as desired). Chaise Storage is very adequate to hold some of the occasionally used items. Buying this on a savings event was a great deal. Thank you Sam’s Club :)
