We bought this mattress 5 months ago. For the 1st 2 weeks, we could not sleep due to the gas odor. We thought by airing it out, it would go away. It is still extremely bad after all this time. The odor gives us headaches and congestion every night. It is too expensive to throw away, but I am concerned it is dangerous to sleep on. I would not recommend this mattress to anyone. Sam’s certainly should not be selling this mattress.

Our new mattress arrived yesterday. It was easier than we expected to set up. We slept on it just five hours after removing it from the packing materials and placing it on the bed. No odor that we noticed, and very comfortable. I would describe it as firm with a soft surface. We are very pleased.

This gel/memory foam mattress is like sleeping on a 2x4. It has, at the most, 1/2 inch give to it. It is so uncomfortable. This will be going back as soon as we order another one. We have had memory foam mattresses in the past, and they were plush and supported your joints. This one is just way too firm. If firm is what you are looking for... this is the one for you...

I have chronic back pain. Surgery did not help. I, in fact, may have made my back worse. This mattress is too firm for me. After two hours, I need to get out of bed because the pain is unbearable. Keep in mind, it is not the mattress but I could not recommend it based on my experience.

We have tried this out for a few weeks now. I know it just my opinion, but I was so hoping this would make a difference for me. I’m about 5ft 120 lbs and had a car wreck years ago. I have neck issues and was hoping this would allow me to get a little more sleep. I know it’s not going to fix me, but I need sleep. My neck and shoulders have hurt worse. It’s very firm. It may be my mistake completely, but I really thought this was one of those mattresses that when she lying and it kind of phones in my woods around you. If that’s what you’re looking for this is definitely not the one. Not saying this is not a good mattress for somebody, but I definitely need to do some more research before I go out and shop again. Returning this today.

A fantastic mattress at any price and at the current price it is a gift. Luxuriously firm well describe posture & very comfortable temperature wise. Movement in bed and getting in and out of bed is very easy. Always a side sleeper, this is the first mattress that is a comfortable back sleep as well.

I tried out the 10" Gel memory foam in the store and it felt pretty comfortable so i figured i'd get the 12" I read this was a medium firm... it was like sleeping on a mat from gym call in high school. I found a mattress i like.... I am a plush mattress user for sure. I gave it a full week to let the foam get it's shape. Box came with no paperwork of any kind... But, found out on the net it can take 24-48 hours for the mattress to gain it's full shape. Waited a full week... after one night it wasn't gonna work for me. Wish Sam's had this in store to try before buying but, the return was super easy so... that part was good.

I have slept on this mattress for 5 wonderful nights now. Not too firm not to soft. I absolutely love it and have had the best nights sleep EVER!. I previously purchased a bed costing 3 times the amount of this mattress and after three months the bed sunk in where we slept. They would never honor the warranty even though it was a local family owned company that had over well over 30 years in business. i was so leery when buying a mattress again. So far I a pleased and I do recommend this mattress.

We've had this mattress for approximately 6 months, and we absolutely love it! I initially was the one having problems with our old, 12-year old innerspring mattress, and started looking for a new one. I was waking up with lower back pain, and sometimes pain in other areas of my back as well. Although it took about a week to get used to this mattress (it almost feels too firm when you first try it out), after this initial period, it's been nothing but perfect. I now wake up with zero pain, and do not wake up in the middle of the night from tossing and turning. I was skeptical about getting a memory foam mattress, but I'm so glad we did. My husband would prefer a bit more plush of a mattress, but he also wakes up with no pain and sleeps well during the night, so no complaints from him either. A quick final note - during my last pregnancy, our old mattress was unbearably uncomfortable. I'm pregnant again and this mattress has been phenomenal - I'm waking up restored and in no pain!

Bought the Serta 12” Luxury Gel Foam mattress (Queen size) a few weeks ago at Sam’s marvelous $100 discount, and liked it so well that I bought a second one right away for my guest bedroom! Consumer Reports rated this mattress as their #2 Best Buy (Mar 2018) at full price, after exhaustive testing, ahead of much pricier competitors. Comes in a box, easy to unfold once you break the vacuum seal... use a scissors to cut the plastic to avoid accidentally slitting the mattress. No foam odor. Expanded depth is more like 11”. Judge it to be medium firm. After much research, I feel this is the most reasonable, comfortable, portable bed solution!
