This cake was not at all what I expected from Sam’s. I’ve ordered several cakes in the past and have always been satisfied, but this one was disappointing by comparison. I was unhappy with the appearance, particularly the border—it looked rushed and poorly assembled.

This half-sheet cake was made & decorated exactly as ordered. It was on point moist (marble) and not overly sweet with bettercream rather than buttercream. The writing on it was truly lovely and complimented the color photo that was provided. (Although Sam's, you really should allow an upload of a photo with the order please, as I had to take a print to the store, which is silly given all the technology we have.) Served with fresh strawberries, it was perfect. Oh, and at a great price to boot. Thanks, Sam's Kingston NY.

Cake flavor was on point as always. The decorating though was seriously lacking. The cake was white icing with teal trim. The writing on the cake was then also in white. So as you can guess white on white could not really be seen and looked ridiculous. Picked up on my way to granddaughter’s 4th bday, names were mixed up on the orders they had my name on cake and my husbands name on cupcakes. I did not have time when picking up to see if it could be fixed.

Because of the new requirements, you can no longer order a cake at the counter. You must order it online. For two days I tried to order my cake and it would not go through so I went in store and a very nice woman helped me. We did everything exactly how I wanted the writing on the cake however when I picked up the cake two days later everything was wrong, the color of the writing and the message on the cake totally wrong. Unfortunately that same nice woman was not there.There was nobody behind the counter to even try to help me. The one person that was there barely spoke any English for me to even try to get my cake fixed. I have always loved ordering my cakes at Sam’s Club, but now I am going to be forced to look elsewhere. I am so disappointed. They need to go back to the old way where you can order in person and pay for your cake right then and there. I believe that was the problem why they now do everything online so payment is upfront, but there’s no reason that you can’t pay upfront in store when ordering your cake. That’s how it should be!!!

Absolutely love Sam's Club cakes. Great quality cake at an amazing price. The cake stays moist for several days, even unrefrigerated. Just keep in a cool spot in your kitchen. My folks love icing. Sam's Club always delivers with just the right amount of icing😊 You will not be disappointed. My only negative is I wished there were a few more color choices with the custom cakes.

Our Sam’s Club went to online ordering for cakes. Design choices are very limited but ordered a cake and chose a design on their website that was an option. When the cake was picked up, the design wasn’t even close to the design that we chose. After speaking to an employee in the bakery, her response was we can scrape the frosting off and redo it. We didn't choose to do that because if they couldn’t decorate it correctly the first time, we couldn’t imagine what the cake would look like after having the frosting scraped off. We were celebrating two birthdays that day and taking this cake to the party was absolutely embarrassing. Since Sam’s Club has gone to this online ordering, we will now have to get our cakes elsewhere. So sad as we have been using them for years.

This cake was not decorated per the instructions. It was supposed to have dots around the border and had shells. The writing was so bad I could've done a better job myself. We also asked for some exclamation points and they weren't there. This cake seemed like a rush job even though we ordered it days in advance. We have purchased beautiful cakes from Sam's in the past but this was a total let down. As with most cake purchases, it was for a special event - a retirement. Very disappointed to present this cake to the man who retired.

I was so disappointed when I picked up this cake. Because I placed the order online and I wasn't sure if it was correct so I went to the store. Spoke directly to the bakery. And they still messed it up. White frosting with white writing. Frosting should have been Chocolate

The cake itself was beautiful and delicious! Here is the problem!!! There is not enough space to put exactly what I wanted on the cake and you can't order in store. I wanted a SMALL emblem of the Air Force on the cake and a larger Congratulations on your Retirement lettering. The emblem took up most of the space on the cake! Please, Please increase the amount of characters you can put when giving directions on what we want on the cake.

When I picked up this cake I was kind of in shock at how poorly the text was placed, organized, and written. The rest of the cake was decorated so nicely so it really stood out. It was so bad lol. After taking a few moments to think, I just accepted the cake as it were saying, "You know what, it actually fits the vibe". My co-worker was quitting and this cake was for her going away party. I contemplated scraping the writing off and re-doing it, but instead. I just added a few little pic signs that said "quitter" on them and a pic banner that said, "The writing on this cake sucks and so do you". I'll see if I can include pics... It turned out to be the highlight of the party and regardless of the writing, the cake was delicious so I can't be too mad.
