Like rubber, never again

I'm not a picky fish eater. I love breaded cod, eat it once or twice a week. This was awful. It was cooked exactly as specified. It was like eating rubber, like it was very old or bad. I've never had a piece of fish that I couldn't bite through. It was like a teenager over microwaved it. I'm not a 'waste' food person, and I had to throw this out.

Not what it used to be

This has been a staple in our freezer for years. The filets were always high quality cuts that baked up crispy...perfect for fish sandwiches. The last box we bought had much thinner pieces of lower quality fish. Given that inflation is what it is, I would rather pay more for the same quality than open up a box and be disappointed. They could at least have updated the picture on the box to reflect the new, smaller, lower quality portions.

Enjoyed

We bought our first box last month and enjoyed every bite. Simple cooking instructions and came out of the oven perfect. Awesome beer batter!! The batter was crispy and the fish was flaky. On our second box and now a regular item on our family menu..

Great batter good tasting fish

I deep fried these. First batch I fried at 350°F... They were very brown, the insides were maybe 135°F. Second batch I cooked at 335°F for 3 minutes and pulled them out and then set the oil to 350°F.... Much better doing the double fry, just as crispy but the fish was hot and yummy

Way too much breading

I’m not sure what happened between the previous ones I have purchased and this new batch, but there’s way too much breading. They aren’t even baking completely through, not like the old ones. I think they’re just trying to sell the weight in breading and not actual fish.

Changed Product

These used to be great! The batter is changed and is very greasy no matter how you cook them. We used to deep fry these and they were wonderful! The batter is hard and ends up burning if you don't want to eat raw fish. Very unattractive if you're serving it to the public.

Good filets !

These are probably the best battered filets from the freezer I have tried wasn't smelly or odd. I fried from frozen on stovetop.... in about 1/2 inch of peanut oil 5-6 minutes, crunchy .they did need salt as I took them out of the oil. I like mine served with malt vinegar .

Don't buy this brand!

I don't see how this fish has a 4.4 star rating unless we just got a horrible batch! I purchased this last Friday and we cooked 6 pieces of it last night! Out of the three (3) pieces I tried to eat and the three (3) pieces my husband tried to eat, we were able to consume about 1/2 a piece between the two of us. The breading/batter has a very good flavor and the only thing edible about this fish! The fish itself is gummy mostly with a few places looking like it is flaky pieces of fish with a horrid taste. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE WE DID!

these are not as good as the cod loins

My sams has stopped stocking the cod loins that I have enjoyed for years. I have asked the workers why, and they say "that they can only stock what they get." So I tried these and they just are not very good. I feel that they are a waste of money. The taste the texture just doesn't do it for me. Buyer beware.

member mark cod fillets

I look for the cod fillets every time I shop at Sam’s Club. The cod fillets are crispy and very tasty! I simply spray my cookie sheet and bake. You need to flip the fillets to ensure that the fillets are crispy. The fillets are delicious! I love white fish with a light taste. These fillets definitely are worth the trip to Sam’s Club and are not over priced.
