This was terrible

This fish doesn't hold up well. It breaks apart easily. Not only that it doesn't taste good. At least it should have some taste to it to not further disappoint. Tartar sauce couldn't save it. To top it off, I found several bones in it. Good thing I got to the fish 1st to taste it before my kids got to it. I was thinking about throwing it away, but figured I'll just give it another try but this time in the oven instead of the air fryer. Well after chomping on that bone I am officially trashing it. I would not recommend. I will not buy again.

Enjoyed

We bought our first box last month and enjoyed every bite. Simple cooking instructions and came out of the oven perfect. Awesome beer batter!! The batter was crispy and the fish was flaky. On our second box and now a regular item on our family menu..

I like to bake my fish. At first this fish would stick to my cookie sheet, or alu. foil. I even oiled the sheet, or foil only to need to chisel the fish loose and destroying the cod. I invested in a modern cookie sheet and the fish glides free when baked.

Not what it used to be

This has been a staple in our freezer for years. The filets were always high quality cuts that baked up crispy...perfect for fish sandwiches. The last box we bought had much thinner pieces of lower quality fish. Given that inflation is what it is, I would rather pay more for the same quality than open up a box and be disappointed. They could at least have updated the picture on the box to reflect the new, smaller, lower quality portions.

Good filets !

These are probably the best battered filets from the freezer I have tried wasn't smelly or odd. I fried from frozen on stovetop.... in about 1/2 inch of peanut oil 5-6 minutes, crunchy .they did need salt as I took them out of the oil. I like mine served with malt vinegar .

Overpriced

I think they are too expensive for what they are. I WILL say that a lot of the issues with "mushy" insides could possibly be fixed with a resting period after frying. I deep fried them, and I noticed the ones that sat for like 6-7 minutes weren't mushy.

FAKE COD?

The first bag is fine. But the second and third bag since the Pandemic is not right. My kid got vomit and diarrear twice after eating this within a few hours. I suspect they used cod substitute which is ESCOLAR. ESCOLAR causes digestive distress for sensitive people. Be careful.

Skip this purchase

The batter had a good taste and the outside got crispy in the oven and by deep frying but the inside batter didn't cook all the way. The fish itself was bland, rubbery and had fatty strands running through the middle of half the pieces I tried. Plus, even with oven baking, pieces were super greasy.

Even the kids liked it!

This was our first time purchasing. When it comes to fish, my kids stop at fish sticks, but I was trying to get more creative for Lent because they tend to get sick of fish sticks by the time it's over. The whole family loved these! The fillets absorbed the butter from the pan in a delightful way during baking and the batter was perfect. Squeezing some lemon over them added to to my enjoyment. Will definitely buy again!! .....if I can find them in stock.

member mark cod fillets

I look for the cod fillets every time I shop at Sam’s Club. The cod fillets are crispy and very tasty! I simply spray my cookie sheet and bake. You need to flip the fillets to ensure that the fillets are crispy. The fillets are delicious! I love white fish with a light taste. These fillets definitely are worth the trip to Sam’s Club and are not over priced.
