I am embarrassed to include this in a review, but the sounds it makes to alert you to its starting and ending are adorable!!

It is very quiet, even when spinning out. Our old top-load washer was so loud that it was hard to talk or hear the TV when it was in the spin cycle.

The spin cycle is most effective, cutting drying time significantly on heavy items. It also uses less detergent than in my previous machine. Happy I chose it.

It uses a fraction of the water that my previous washer used and cleans twice as well. It requires a fraction of the detergent and bleach my previous washer did and will effectively wash 40% more. It spins so efficiently that many of my items do not even require machine drying; they can be hung immediately and dry completely within an hour or two. It is truly remarkable piece of equipment that has already saved me countless hours with how efficiently it functions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is fairly quiet. It is interesting to watch it work. The direct drive motor allows infinitely variable speeds. If it detects an out of balance condition, it will reverse and try again. I had to research to learn what the "Bedding" cycle meant; not sheets, but comforters and such.

My purchase was replacing the existing LG washer. Often many models needs to replace both washer and dryer, but the existing dryer was still compatible with existing bracket to reuse. I only had to replace washer. It's LG washer. I think it is best class on the level.
