[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old washer quit, so had to replace it after 12 years. I'm hoping this one will last that long! Small loads to big loads, everything comes out clean as expected. It takes very little laundry soap to complete the needed job.

The unit has started smelling of slight smoke when operating. First my spouse noticed and then I did. There is no interference with the rotation of the drum in either direction. On this item, we're taking a wait and see approach, which seems reasonable. The unit has 5 different wash temperature selections. Despite this, it's incapable of using the 100% hot feed water. I've checked the feed flow for hot (and cold). There's plenty of both. The hot feed is plenty hot, but the machine dilutes it with some cold. When I want hot sanitary wash for white clothes, by golly I want it to use 100% hot feed water. I don't want this lukewarm wishy-washy crap. The machine seems to be designed wrong, since it can't run hot, not even using the hottest selection on the machine's panel. It's a lousy design that needs immediate correction. Or it's not made to proper specifications. Either way it's marginal. LG needs to start long term work on this.

I’m not happy I keep getting small leaks and am told I need to use less detergent. I’m using less than two tablespoons. I had a technician out and he said he couldn’t find anything wrong and just keep using it. The machine is only two months old and this started 6 weeks so l couldn't return it.

This was a replacement for our 16yr old Samsung. Does the job and seems to be very efficient. It was hard, however, for wife and I to figure out how to use with provided quick start instructions and online manual; very broadbrush where more details desired.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i bought this washer 8 months ago and love that it is very quiet and gets the clothes clean. The documentation that comes with it is poor; I had to download basic information online about washer settings and how to use it. It's energy efficient and supposed to be gentler on clothes, but the spin cycle produces a lot of wrinkles so you have to shake out everything before drying. My old top loader lasted for 40 years; I'll be lucky if this lasts for its expected 10-year lifetime. Too much is computer controlled; if this fails, the washer is unusable. After only 7 months the washer started vibrating uncontrollably and sounding like a jet engine taking off during the spin cycle. It was unplugged for 2 weeks before the LG technician came and he found nothing wrong; apparently it was a weird electronic glitch that fixed itself. Very disturbing to have trouble in this short amount of time. The error codes it generated are weird and don't persist or shut down the machine if there's trouble. I'll watch and wait. Meanwhile, I'm considering getting an extended warranty.

Very straight forward buttons/selections. I use the speed cycle alot and it saves water and time. This machine spins the clothes so dry I put many on the outside clothes line and dry in 15 minutes. Easy to clean and maintain----recommend highly!!!

The large drum fits a large load and it is quiet even at high spin cycle. I might give this a five if I had it longer than two weeks so saw how well it held up.
