Very easy to use because it seemed complicated ! I

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am thrilled with this washing machine. We never owned an LG product. The washing machine is almost silent and the spin cycle is amazing ! Everything come out barely wet. Using less time to dry in my new LG Dryer !

Great design!!!

Our Samsung died, we replaced with another but they changed the design. Water ran down inside of door onto floor. Sent it back and bought the LG. Water comes in all around the tub, clothes get clean and I don't have to clean the floor afterwards. Tub is tilted back about 5degrees so clothes stay put and don't fall on the floor when you open the door. Also, the different directions of agitation keeps clothes from becoming tangled. (The Samsung literally tied the clothes in knots). It's a simple system-no bells and whistles- but I don't need to turn on the washer from another room or while away from home (You take a chance that it might decide to leak or catch fire, so why would you be an idiot?) I rarely use anything other than Normal or Gentle and I can adjust water temp, & spin speed separately. Water does not accumulate on the door, it's quiet, efficient and fast. LOVE this and the engineer who designed it! THANK YOU!!! (I'm a massage therapist and it handles large loads of sheets and linens well. They spin so hard, they're almost dry coming out, and there's always enough water to cover everything. The Samsung would have actual dry spots that the water never even touched-yuck!)

A Great Washing Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace our old washing machine. It has terrific features that are simple to use and is extremely energy efficient. This model and other LG models got exceptional Consumer Report reviews.

Rinse, rinse again, and costly to repair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washing machine's manual was unclear on how to do certain things. The cleaning is good but often a second rinse is required to clear all soap from the load. Also, the machine is not very reliable. The door lock went requiring repairs that cost almost 1/3 of what the machine originally cost. I don't think I'll buy an LG washing machine again.

Great machine(once I figured out the controls!)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this machine for 2 weeks, and we love it. We've done all kinds of loads, from delicates to large, heavy loads with 8 towels. It handled them all very well. We've had an LG before and had great success with it, which prompted this purchase. Minus a star for the control panel, which is easy once you realize it's like a touch screen, and not a push button. It also requires reading carefully, as some functions are on the same touchpad, labeled below the main function of that pad, in fainter lettering, but require a 3 second hold. For example, it took us a few minutes to figure out how to unlock the door lock, after we accidently locked the "Control Lock", which is on the same touchpad for "Rinse and Spin" and is activated and deactivated with that 3 second touch. This is not a real problem once you realize that there are 4 of these 'dual function' buttons. The other trouble we had initially was with getting the machine level. We have a tile floor with 1/4" grout lines, in a laundry closet, which we discovered is not perfectly level. I wasn't watching the installers carefully enough, and it's impossible to reach the rear corners to adjust the rear feet. On a first heavy load of towels (we have a big dog!) the machine moved, and was out of level. I had to tilt the machine out enough to reach to back legs to raise them, reposition the machine, and then adjust the front legs. I also used some wood blocks to prevent any further tiny travel which might make the machine out of level again. This is an installation issue, not technically a problem with the machine. However I imagine there are lots of settings where a way to adjust the rear legs from the front of the machine would be useful, like mine. Something for the engineers to work on.

EXCELLENT BUILD BUT INEFFICIENT

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG 3400 series is well-built. Switches and controls are ideally located and the unit is simple to use from the start. My concerns and issues are the severe lack of water use and the extensive run-times while the unit attempts to be 'HE' compliant. I've often had to wash twice for anything actually stained or soiled. There simply isn't enough water being used which in turn means that more electrical energy is being used via longer or multiple wash times. I'm finding the best of all the 'settings' is to place it on the TOWEL mode. I'm also adding an extra POD/soap which is helping. I can share in this review that I did extensive research in washer/dryer units and I used consumer magazines and online guides that always referred me back to the quality of LG for washer and dryers. This is still a very good washer/dryer.

Fantastic upgrade!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were long overdue for an upgrade and my husband did a lot of research to identify an affordable, energy & water efficient washer and dryer set. This dryer was part of that research and it has been up to the task. There is no comparing it to our old one which was probably 20 to 30 years old, but as far as a new set goes this is a great value and gets the job done well! Now we are looking to remodel the laundry room because these beauties need a nice place to work!

LG Washer is a keeper

I've used this washer for just short of a month now and I love. The front end feature uses less detergent and less water. The laundry gets very clean and spins more water out than our previous washer that reduces dryer time. The 15 minute cycle is perfect for those not so dirty clothes. This was a great purchase!

excellent wash cycles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this as a replacement for our 23 year old washer, which we loved but could no longer resuscitate. What an upgrade this was, this LG washer is terrific. Extremely quiet with very pleasant sounding alerts and cycle finished prompts. The wash cycles use less water but get all our clothes really clean. The spin cycles take out more moisture, allowing us to use less energy drying. Wonderful plus is the drain filter is accessible from the front without the need for tools. If you’ve ever left small items in your pockets, this is a great feature. So happy with our machine, looking forward to many years of use.

Everything We Expected...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first exposure to the LG line of appliances and, in fact, our first experience with a gas dryer. First, the dryer is big... while we haven't used it much we have laundered winter bedding (that we used to take to a laundromat) successfully and efficiently. The dryer also does a fine job on jeans and, to the other end of the spectrum, finishes "permanent press" items well. This unit obviously has a variety of settings to accommodate the scope of laundry in a "normal" household (we still have a few settings to explore). Overall we believe we made a smart choice (Energy Star rated) and are confident this unit will serve our needs for years to come.
