6 pound chi walks right through. Says should fit 35 inches but barely and not secure because fasteners are at limit.

This gate is great pets can't chew on it and they can't get it open the safety lock is a great feature.

This gate works just fine to keep my 14 month old in the living room. The only downside is that my 5 year old has a little trouble operating it.

The gate only opens one way. Extensions need to be smaller. Hard to adjust screw braces at the floor level.
