NOPE. Nowhere NEAR the quality of my other Regalo

I have a Regalo and a Summer baby gate. We needed a few more. Since I preferred our second-hand Regalo, I ordered two of those. But after staying up far too late for someone with a 10-month-old to set this up (it didn't take long, but let's face it I need all the sleep I can get) it didn't even come CLOSE to the quality of our other Regalo. The design was similar, and that's what I liked: the way the gate latch lifts up and can be easily locked. I also like that the door does not have a spring, so when Baby is asleep, we don't have to fight bouncy gates all evening; we can just leave them open. Like a normal door. But this one... First of all, the one I set up tonight didn't come with the hex tool. Luckily, I have a bit for my screwdriver that fits, but seriously... Second and MOST OF ALL: to get it pressure mounted tight enough so that it doesn't wobble when shaken, the door WON'T OPEN. I have installed several baby gates by this point, and this is by far the worst. When I loosen the pressure screws so that the gate can actually be (barely) opened, the entire structure is horribly wobbly. I will be returning this gate, and the unopened one. I thought Regalo was my "gate brand" (the Summer latch left was too shallow for the Rambunctious Baby) but I guess it's back to the drawing board. Too bad. I really wanted this to work.

Excellent Baby Gate!

I am so glad I decided to order this! I needed a gate that would allow me to block off my kitchen area. I have 2 boys, a 3 year old and a 1 year old, plus a 14 week old puppy. Clearly, this gate gets beat up around my house. My oldest son can open the gate, but I have no problems with him getting into the kitchen area since he is old enough to listen and understand. My youngest can only open it if I leave it unlocked. I can open it with one hand and when I'm holding my son. The gate also gives you the option of a modified hardware mount. You can mount these cups to the wall and install the pressure mounted gate to the cups. This makes it harder for the gate to slip out of place. So far, I've only pressure mounted it to the wall (without the cups) and pretty good. My puppy was able to get it out of place once, but I noticed he chews on the wheels that adjust the pressure mounting system and I think he just loosened the tension. Other than that, the gate has worked wonders. Better than spending a ton of money for a temporary fix! By the way, I have two of these gates and I may be getting a third.

This is a great product

I have a 10 month old son who is crawling, pulling himself up to stand, and walking while holding onto things. I purchased this gate thinking it would go at the top of the stairs leading to the basement. Unfortunately I didn't measure first and it ended up going at the bottom of the stairs, but it fits perfectly. It was easy to figure out how to set up. We live at my parent's house and I didn't want to permanently screw it to the wall. The pressure mount works well, despite my son tugging and pulling on it. It also opens easily, which is great because that is a very high traffic area. I'm probably going to be buying a few more for the second floor stairs.

Not good for dogs

I bought this swing gate for my small 12 pound dog. She was able to jump over this 31" high gate and escape. However, Walmart has the lowest price I've seen for this gate. Pluses are you can adjust the pressure on all for legs in case the door isn't level. If you want a gate for a dog you may need to buy Walmart's Carlson 41" high gate for $65.

Easy install for narrower openings.

I would recommend this gate for a friend that needed a semi-permanent step through gate. The setup of the gate is easy, but will go much faster with a second set of hands. My 8 year old help me install the unit. The instructions list the included wall cups as optional if you don't have the gate installed at stairs. I would recommend using them regardless. The gate felt much more secure with the cups in place. I had to install this gate over a wider opening. (41 inches) The compression screws were extended too far, which led to a flimsy mounting. I added two, two inch shims on either side of the gate and now it is very sturdy and solid. An eight year old and six year use the gate effortlessly. Buy this gate if you need a sturdy gate in a narrower opening. 33 inches or less would be my recommendation.

Slightly complicated.

This gate was very easy to put up but make sure you check the measurements bc the gate extender made the gate way too big and it barely works as it. The screws are extended all the way out so it isn't as sturdy as our other gate but stairways are tricky to fit. The handle works by pulling the red button back to expose the end of a white handle that you lift up that pulls back the piece that allows the door to open and close. Requires two hands so it's not easy carrying a two year old. For the price and ability to step through, is good though. We paid twice as much for an easier to open gate.

Great Product Easy to Install looks great

This gate is exceptional for its price. It was easy to install, and is very sharp looking. It is very stable, and great for a space that most gates will not fit on. I have a wide space which I had a really hard time finding a reasonably priced gate for. This fits what I wanted perfectly!

We purchased this gate to keep our new Shi-tzu puppy in our kitchen. After reading numerous reviews on this gate we decided to purchase. We actually ordered three of them for all three entries into the kitchen (one being the top of the stairs). They were easy to install (my 12 year old daughter assisted me). The only problem is that the slats are too wide and the puppy can get through them. They are a good three inches apart at the end where the gate opens. They will be great gates once she gets bigger, but for now we are still having to use the mesh gates in front of the metal one.

Best baby gate for our needs

I love this baby gate. Our puppy started having luxating patella problems suddenly so we have to limit her space so she can begin to heal. I love this gate, it's easy to walk through and it works in our hallway which has a molded baseboard on the bottom. This gate has 4 places to adjust so this problem no longer exists. Exactly what we needed!

Great gate

It’s great that now I don’t have to take down a baby gate whenever I leave my sons room I’m short so I can’t step over baby gate. I haven’t had any problem with it couldn’t mount it tho because my frames are metal but it’s pretty sturdy haven’t had any problems and my son doesn’t even touch it.
