The gate is sturdy and easy to install but is really only good for a doorway. I assumed that it would fit the stairway In my home but it is too short for the gap. Totally my fault, I should have measured! We will be reordering the same brand but in the extra wide version.

This gate is for my day care to keep the kids out of the kitchen. It is easy to install and uninstall as I will put in up and down every day for day care. Th older kids can easily learn how to open the gate while the younger kids still cannot figure it out. The only problem we have is we keep tripping on the small lip that goes across the bottom. We are going to try painting the bottom strip a bright color so we might not trip as often.

I purchased this baby gate for the upstairs hallway of my house. It is very easy to put together. We did have to use the extender piece which just slides right into place. The gate is taller and the latch is easy to use for my older children. The red lock piece slides back and The door latch pulls up. It is by far the least tricky latch of the all gates that we have used. It is also very sturdy because it is one solid piece. I am considering buying another to replace an older gate that I have downstairs.

bought this to keep my dogs contained in one room and it works great . They chewed up the other plastic one and this one is metal so not able to chew this one. Also love that i can open and walk thru and not have to climb over the other like the other kind we had... I went ahead and ordered one for my grandmother and her dogs.....

My child won't get his fingers pinched in this like you can in the cheap models. Love that it stays in place and I can swing it open to walk through. Bought a second one for the other doorway after using first one for a month. Both still holding up. Fits our standard doorways but comes with an extension. Would fit a narrower doorway as well.

This gate is kind of hard to open with one hand, especially when carrying anything or anyone. I also don't like that it can only swing one way. I have an Evenflo gate that swings both ways, is really easy to open with one hand, and can even be slammed into a locked, safe position if you're in a hurry. This gate is a bit of a pain. I was going to return it & get another Evenflo, but my husband had already thrown away the box :(. The Evenflo gate was almost $10 more, which is why I thought I'd give this a try; I should have spent the extra money. Anyway, the gate is okay, it just has some pretty obvious design flaws.

I read the instructions completely before putting this together. Some of the other reviews had mentioned issues so I wanted to be clear going in. I put it together and installed this gate by myself with no issues. I actually installed multiple gates. If your baby is crawling you can shut it without latching, but once he starts standing the latch lock works great. I saw some people complaining about it, but I can unlatch and open with one hand without issue. My suggestion is to read the instructions before you do anything else and this should work fine.

Easy assemble. Fits odd door openings. Used bottom of stairs. Can safety lock or just close.. easy to open. Safety lock will be tricky as baby ages.. shes one y/o n my 4y/o nephew learned quickly beacuse he was thought. However he cannot open the safety lock.

I bought this gate to keep my puppies and my two year old corralled in the kitchen when I need to. It was easy to install and has stood up to a lot of wear and tear. My puppies, Blue Heeler mixes, jump on it daily and my son, 2 yrs., shakes it, opens and closes it, all the time. With the exception of it getting loose, from all of that activity, every once in awhile, it has been a great gate! Also, it is easy to open and close one-handed and I like the fact that I do not have to step over it like other suspension gates.

I bought for my Lab puppy dog who will take food off counters, tables and your plate while you are eating. I needed to find something to keep him out of the kitchen during meal prep and meal time. This gate has made my life so much easier. My puppy can still see in to the kitchen which makes him not feel isolated. The door works wonders for entering and exiting. The gate is very sturdy with just using the pressure knobs which is a relief as I did not want to create holes in my door frame. Please read the instructions very carefully from start to end before you start to assemble it. Also, the gap mentioned in the instructions where they say it is not a defect you will see once you put the gate together the gap will no longer exist. I am over the roof happy with this purchase and only wish I bought it sooner.
