I bought this for the bottom of my stairs, to keep my dog in my room/basement, have been using the wood type gates for years with constant tripping and falling! This metal gate stays put, and this light metal gate stays put, and its easy to operate with one hand. And it looks good. Only bad thing is it is narrow .

Bought this and returned it within a couple of days. Cheap is the first thing that comes to mind after getting the one that replaced it. The plastic lever on top is not going to last long. Seeing how other gates are made to open, this one totally misses the mark. It really does not need to be so hard to open. Overall, you should spend the 10.00 more to get an easy close gate that is more sturdy and easier to open. You will not be disappointed you chose the next step up.

I love this gate. I use it to separate the kitchen and the dining room. With that being said, I am the type of person that has to have all products match. So I bought this brand of gate in different sizes - Wide and extra wide also. I do not like those gates. Because of their size and extensions they can not be used pressure mounted and obtain the same sturdiness that you find with this gate. This gate - I did not use the extensions and it's perfect and super strong using only pressure mounts. *I just noted that for any other mom's out there that are going to buy a bunch of gates (same brand, different sizes).

I was pleasantly surprised to see how durable this gate is and also how easy it was to install. It fit perfectly in my door jam and it also comes with an extra section to make it longer. This gate was the least expensive one they had and it works great! I would definitely recommend this gate to anyone!

I ordered two of these gates to help my little yorkies stay in the kitchen area. Previously I had shorter gates, 18inches high made for tiny dogs. At five months old and only five pds, my little yorkie would scale over it and so I purchased these two. They were wonderful, easy to put up, ease of opening to step thru. The only problem I had and it had nonething to do with the gate at all was that my little smart yorkie squeezed herself right thru the bars. I did not believe it til I watched her do it. My hubby put some wire screening over the bars and fastened it with cable ties. Now this works great for that little "Houdini" and the gates are wonderful. I would recommend them.

I love this gate got it to keep my 80lb half lab, half pit baby in my bedroom when someone comes, it was a little hard to put up at first but didn't need the extention and then when I got it up and bam it held her in and she can't get through it unless I let her out the door way it is easy for her to step over once I open the swing door I love it and would highly recommend it for pets and small children, just watch the bottom rail if you have it high like I do..

We bought this to keep our senior dog safe from attempting the stairs without us being present. I am 5'6", 172 lbs. I am also on the clumsy side. I can get through this gate, with my hands full, easily. While I'm home, I can keep the handle in an easier to use position but can fully lock it when I'm not home. The extra hardware included to add strength, if needed, was a bonus. We have found the tension without the screws strong enough. We were able to try a couple of different heights and positions to get the perfect fit for our stairway. It installs very quickly and easily. It's also aesthetically pleasing in our home.

This gate is much better than those plastic ones you have to have two hands to manuver. You can unlock it with one hand and the door swings open almost 180 degrees which is a plus. I love that the door on the gate swings open so you don't have to jump over it or remove it everytime you want to go in the next room. I am a mother of a toddler and a newborn and my toddler can push and pull on this gate all he wants and it won't budge. It makes me feel very safe. Also, you don't have to screw it into your wall if you don't want to so if you live in an apartment or don't want to put holes in your walls you don't have too. I would buy one for every doorway in my house. Highly recommended and much more affordable than some of those other gates that are very similar to this product yet 2 or 3 times the price. If you are looking for an affordable gate with a door that swings open this gate is a must have !!!!!!!

This product was easy to install and met all of my expectations. I have a very active 8 month old who can get around at his own will. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone who needs to keep their kids and/or pets safe in one place. Also, I used the sitetostore option, which was very convenient as I was able to obtain my item in a timely manner without paying for shipping and handling.

Gate set up in minutes. It is very durable. It did not require any tools to set it up in a door way. I set it up for temporary use and it has not caused any damage to the door frame. My son isn't too fond of it when closed, but has figured out how to manuver over the bar that connects the gate at the bottom without tripping. The gate opening is a little narrow, but not too hard to get through.
