I just finished my install this last weekend. At first I thought how would I ever use 16 cameras but as I was designing the coverage areas I was glad I had 16! The picture quality is amazing. I would recommend that before you install the cameras that you temporarily attach at least one and move it around live to different locations so you can see exactaly what the coverage will be like and where the best placement would be. My only thing left to figure out is if I can use a 720p monitor instead of a 4K.

Initially was contemplating getting help installing the system but after reading the instructions wanted to try myself and was able to install within a couple of hours. There is quite a lot of functionality available especially an app where you can receive notifications , a great system at an affordable price point to secure your home and providing that additional security.

The video quality (resolution) is truly superb both on the monitor & phone. I feel much more secure having the data stored on site and available to access 24/7. Accessing the video stream on the phone is wonderfully quick as I've had other systems that had quite the lag time but this is nearly instantaneous. The manual is well laid out & easy to follow. 5 stars - very impressive system perfect for any office.

After reading and looking at it, we opted for some outside assistance to be sure we got the most out of it. And the picture quality is great for such a small camera! We can watch our shoreline and boat, the front and rear doors, as well as a few other choice locations around the house and garage. We are very happy with the ease of use and quality of the product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Defender Wired 4k wired security system for just over two weeks. I got the system and it was very well packed. It was organized and contained a lot of parts! It was a little intimidating for me to at first. I wanted a hard wired system because I was hoping for consistant quality. I still have to tidy up the wiring. The directions seemed too technical so I followed them slowly, step by step. Set up was mostly smooth for my first time installing something like this. I looked up a few details on the internet to make sure I was setting the DVR up correctly. After I had the whole thing set up, I was impressed with the quality of the pictures and the wide angles. Even at night, I could see pretty well. I'm still tinkering with some of the settings but I like all the different views. The only thing that could make that better would be if you could pan around but really with so many cameras set up, it's not neccesary. It's a powerful system for my home. It would also be great for use at a small business. I am able to have every single dark corner, gate and door under surveillance. I'm learning the app and am so glad to have this feature without paying a monthy service fee.

So we decided to try out the Defender 4K (8MP) Wired Security System with 4 Cameras. We were a little nervous about installing these ourselves but it was actually very straightforward. We did watch a couple videos online to assist. We are very pleased with the quality of all of the equipment and happy how easy it was to set up. The picture quality is amazing, clear and up close looking. We are very happy with all of the features and are actually having a lot of fun testing everything out. The price for the quality you get is great. I definitely recommend this product.

I bought this at Sam's Club when it was on sale. I upgraded from a 16 camera 720p system to the Defender 4K system with 16 cameras. I was able to swap the existing cameras using existing cable with no problems. I had to replace the old camera power supplies with the Defender provided power supplies to eliminate hum bars in the video. The improvement in video quality is really nice. It took a while to get all the settings configured to get the best quality recorded and downloadable to my PC. I wish the cameras could be viewed on a PC with something other than Internet Explorer. It would be nice to be able to save the camera live view configuration in the browser without having to start over every time I start the browser.

I needed to update my security cameras from an old defender system. It was about 6 years old and still worked fine. I wanted better resolution. The picture on this system is excellent. Installation was easy. Software set up was not as simple as my old system but the app is good. Added my wife's phone and we are up and running. Night vision is great. Have had foxes and raccoons caught wandering through my yard. Neighbors had cars broken into and I was able to provide the police with stills and video of the person trying my car doors. Luckily we had ours locked.

This one is so easy to install, instructions are easy to follow and I mean from the set up of the cameras to the app; and by the way I just love that I can leave the house and at the same time check on my house any time I want, that truly is peace of mind, and I can review any recordings at any time to the second.. that's wonderful! and the picture quality is so nice, naturally the day time is way better than night view but I'd say they are both clear enough and you can definitely recognize faces. I highly recommend! there is nothing like a sense of security not just for a part of the day but all day all the time.
