Improper detergent dosing and oversized loads can cause residue on fabrics and hinder washing. For high-efficiency machines, maintain specific fill levels: a hands gap for normal cycles, 60% for synthetics, and 40% for delicate cycles. Low water pressure can also affect performance. Always follow dosing instructions and check POD compatibility with newer machines. If the laundry product leaves hard plastic-like residue or gluey patches, do not pull stuck garments apart to avoid tearing; instead, soak them overnight in water and rewash without detergent at the highest temperature allowed by the care label. For stains left by the product, if the items have not been tumble dried, rinse immediately with warm water, soak overnight, then rewash without detergent at the appropriate temperature. If the items have been tumble dried or dried on a hot radiator, rinse with hot water (within care label limits), wring out, apply clear rubbing alcohol or alcohol-based hand gel (testing colorfastness first), let soak for 10 minutes, then rewash with one POD.
