Quiet, Powerful, Easy, and still Portable

I've used several generators for different purposes and locations from H*nda to H*rbor. On my travel trailer, had been using a highly customized competitor config with modifications for propane and to the AC so it could run the AC (wife's requirement for long summer camping trips). However, at really high altitudes (where I often camp) the propane just couldn't keep up and had to go gas (which I hate dealing with). A buddy of mine borrowed this from his friend. Compared to my H*nda, it is quieter, more powerful, and a lower net cost than all the add ons. Had to get one, which took a while given low inventories. At 100 lbs, it's not as easy to maneuver but still doable for the four times we need to move it per camping trip (load up/setup, breakdown/back to garage), and the wheels help. Out of the box with oil provided, started up first touch and ran a variable test load for 4 hrs on propane. Ran everything except microwave without ever going above 50%. Adding microwave kicked it to 75% tier, but I never actually use the microwave anyways. Changed out first run oil to synthetic, and attaching a quick release for the propane connector. Can easily disconnect the onboard battery for storage, or use the provided trickle charger. Native TT30R port means you don't even need to buy a conversion dogbone. Only minus is the oil port is buried inside, which requires screwing in a flimsy funnel provided that I'm sure will easily break. Otherwise, they've really thought through a fantastic solution for the RV boon docking enthusiast. If you see this in stock, jump on it.

Awesome affordable generator and SUPER quiet

I originally purchased the gas version. I has a display problem right out of the gate. I took it back and ordered the Dual Fuel. I had to wait for 6 weeks to get it, but I'm glad I did. This unit came well packaged and just about ready to roll. Connect the battery, add oil and gas (propane or gas) and your done. The only complaint I have is the oil. It comes with a nice fill spout but..... I know every unit is test run and requires oil for that. But, you should make sure to drain all oil. I had a bit of a over flow problem and it made a mess. Did not know I was over filling until I removed the oil fill tube. Not the end of the world but none the less a pain to clean up.

Westinghouse iGen5000DFc Inverter Generator

I bought this for our RV trailer. It started up perfect. It worked with no issues when we connected it to the RV trailer. It runs the Air conditioner, refrigerator with no issues. We have not overloaded it and are adding extra load slowly. Great generator and it is working great!!!!

So far so good

I just received this generator for my birthday! I plan to use it for my camper! So far am very pleased with the performance and quality! It should power everything I need it to power and more. Its dual fuel so a can run on extra gas I've got for my truck or the propane I use for my camper. They provide everything you need to get this thing up and running for both gas and propane except for the fuel! The remote start fob is already pared so that makes life a little easier! I cant speak on the long term reliability yet, I'm not even though my 5 hour brake in yet but I'm excited to put this thing to some real use! But so far this generator has been super simple to get started, just add the provided oil with the provided funnel and some fuel and shes ready to go (into break-in period). It is defiantly quitter than I expected especially when its on eco mode! The included battery charger for the onboard battery that plugs right into the face of the generator is a very welcome addition as well, that one less thing you have to buy and one less process you have to go though to keep this thing up and running. And its worth noting that I have had zero choke issues! I think this is the latest and greatest model because both my USB ports are 2.1 amp. I think some of the older ones had a 1.something and a 2.1amp USB port instead of both being 2.1, the included oil funnel is a different than most sights have photos of, and the manual is a little different than the one you can download online (Home Depot). So maybe they worked the choke out! Only complaint so far is the oil drain hole on the bottom of the generator is a little small and it's kinda hard to not make a mess. A drain tube that you could lead out of the hole would be a nice addition. But if that continues to be my only complaint I am 100% satisfied!

IGen5000DFc inverter Generator

This Westinghouse inverter generator is powerful and has many features you’d want in a mid sized inverter generator. Dual fuel is a must and this has a selector switch than can switch from gasoline to propane without shutting down the generator(load must be disconnected first). Theses a carbon monoxide detector that will shut it down if excess co is detected. The weight is approx. 105 pounds which is right on par for this size. It’s much quieter than the larger open frame generators, and supplies clean energy for sensitive electronics. All in all a good choice for inverter generators. One improvement needed in my opinion, would be a quick disconnect for the propane attachment to the generator. Instructions say to hand tighten the fitting then look for leaks using soap water. A little inconvenient but not a deal breaker. You can link another generator through the parallel ports if desired. There are 2 120v AC receptacles and 1 30A 120v receptacle you can use with the proper RV adapter extension cord(can convert to 3 additional 120v extensions for household use)

Great features and accessories

I purchase this item from Amazon.com and upon receiving the generator I found it well packaged and no shipping damage. After following the simple setup which include the necessary motor oil it started on the first try using the remote and propane. I knew the IG4500 DF was suppose to be quite but I was surprised how good it was using propane. I also thought the build quality was very good with easy access to the battery and oil compartments. The data center was also a nice feature and seems to work well. I feel considering the power capability and feature set of this generator that the price I paid was reasonable. I have only had it for a couple of weeks but so far I am very happy with my purchase.

Great features in a manageable size

I just bought this generator. I have not used it yet, but it appears to be very solidly constructed. It is every bit of 105 pounds. I like the fact that it can run on propane so I don't have to worry about the fuel going bad. The manual says the first oil change should be after 25 hours, but many people on-line suggest much sooner. Also, it says not to exceed 50% load for first 5 hours of operation. That seems like a long time to break in. I am looking forwarding to testing and having this unit ready for the next power outage. Packaging was damaged, but unit appears to be no worse for wear. Fortunately many on-line have advised to fill the oil reservoir carefully and test frequently to avoid over filling. Will be buying a gen tent to operate on back deck.

Great Features

I just received my IGEN4500DF today followed prestart instructions filled with oil connected battery and propane unit fired right up no issues. Connected to my travel trailer tested the AC my no problem starting up my 15,000 btu unit. My main reason for buying this unit was the key fob remote and propane options. However this unit has become very popular so if you want one get it while they are in stock and shop around for the best price.

Less than One day

Directions/QuickStart was easy to follow and started up immediately. Remote start/stop, pull start and manual stop all worked as expected. Little funnel for oil was nice and sealed with no spillage. Appreciate that little detail. Not a long use review but out of the box I’m impressed.

So far so good.

Just got this unit and have not used it much, but so far i like it. Not quite as quiet as a Honda but almost. I like the remote start and the cost compared to other brands. I can't wait for camping season to come again so I can put it to use powering my fifth- wheel trailer. This is the main reason I bought it. So far so good.
