Well designed with many features that Honda has. Digital gas gauge, hrs electric load etc. is nice. I have a Honda 2000 watt peak generator and this Westinghouse 5000 is just as quiet as my Honda. It is heavy, but as expected. I love the dual fuel. Fired right up on propane!

its great cpukd use a little more instruction on how to charge the battery for it and a little more on the full set up. otherwise it is a great product....

This is our second Westinghouse Generator. We were so happy with our first one that we decided (when it was time for a second smaller one) to go right back to Westinghouse again. We have tested it but haven't had to use it as of yet. While testing everything went smoothly. My husband commented on the fact that it was very quiet for a generator of this size. And we had it on the rock encased front porch where normally everything echoes and resounds. Silent? By no means, but definitely quieter than we expected.

Just bought this generator after reviewing other types/models. My friend has this same model and highly recommended it to me. The true test will be in a couple of weeks when I use it at base camp for my upcoming Elk hunt in Colorado. I'll be at 10,000 FASL - Hope it doesn't need to be jetted to run better at this level -- will check into. Will repost a review following the hunt . . . .

Bought this generator in August of 2026 for boondock camping in my travel trailer and also as an emergency backup for my home in case of extended power outages if needed. So far so good. Quality generator that is comparable to Honda and Onan. Westinghouse's reputation speaks for itself. Curious to see how many years I'll get out of it with proper maintenance.

I bought this about a month ago and just began to use it. It’s suffers from the same problem most people have out of the box with the choke issue. I’m debating on whether or not to return it and start all over again but I fear that I will end up having this problem as most do. You would think that by now they would have solve this issue since it’s a clear manufacturing production defect. Still powers everything great. I don’t truly regret it I just wish this thing would run the way that it supposed to without having to need to return it orDo the work myself to correct the problem. I feel I should be giving some sort of discount for having to deal with this

Performs as needed, ie RV air conditioner, microwave, etc. Don't like that the toggle on/off switch is lighted when in the on position. Leaving the switch in the on position so remote start can be used from the RV drains the battery when generator is not in use. Having to set the toggle in the on position prior to each start negates the value of the remote start function.
