Elegant design with essential functions for occasional power outages and RV usages. It doesn't connect to the power transfer switch to power the whole house. But, it keeps essential items running with a minimal quantity of gasoline (which might be hard to get in power outages). It also runs on propane, just in case. Well, the long-term reliability is unknown yet, since it's a new product and I just got it.

We purchased this to use with our 38 foot fifth wheel toy hauler, as the onboard Onan generator uses a ton of gas when dry camping. We used this when dry camping, and it ran both ACs and lights perfectly. Only overloaded when we accidentally forgot and turned on the electric water heater with both ACs running, which we knew going in would be a no no on a single unit. It didn’t run quite as long as indicated, but we ran it two consecutive nights, one night on 3.4 gallons of gas and one night on a full 20 pound propane tank, both night starting at 8 PM running 1AC, and we Did turn on the hot water heater for showers. The temp outside was in the 70s overnight, so we didn’t need to run both ACs, but I’m sure we could have if needed. With gas, it ran from 8 PM until 9 AM (13 hours). With propane, it ran from 8 PM until 7:45 AM ( 11.75 hours). So although not as long as Westinghouse says, it’s still ran and kept up all night like our onboard does, but used way less fuel, and we didn’t have to refill in the middle of the night like with our smaller standalone generator. It’s not the quietest on the market but it’s close enough and we love that it’s dual fuel!

I just purchased this iGen 4500DF and so far am very pleased. Hooked up the battery and propane tank and it started after about 10 seconds to purge out the propane line. Remote start and dual fuel was, in my opinion, a necessity so I can start it from inside my RV and use my onboard propane as fuel (but have the option of regular gas if needed). Fairly quiet but I will be adding a remote exhaust in the near future. I hooked up some 1000 watt shop lights and a bench grinder and it showed a 25% load which I considered appropriate.

Just received my IGen5000DFc. Looks solid and the startup was simple and worked great. Pretty quiet as well. Praying this inverter generator will last a very, very long time. My last generator (different manufacturer) was practically brand new, but stopped generating power with less than 100 hours on it.

Easy set up and started immediately. I turned on everything I could including 13,500 ac and refrigerator freezer. Didn’t even phase it. With everything running at the same time it showed 50% power usage. Next thing to actually use it out camping. If it continues to perform as it did in the first half hour I couldn’t be happier.

I have been wanting one of these dual fuel generators for quite some time since here in Texas we have a lot of weather related power outages. My wife must have heard me because one showed up with a big red bow on it and a card saying Happy Anniversary! I think I will keep her for another 40 years. :-)

After extensively researching portable generators, my husband settled on the Westinghouse iGen4500DF and is very happy with this purchase! It was very well packed, easy to unpack, and arrived on time. The cost was commensurate with the service it will provide if/when there is a power outage. When testing it out, it started right up and was remarkably quieter than expected. Its compact size and retractable handle make it easy to transport. Overall, we are pleased with this generator!

Just bought it and set up for gasoline and propane. Seems to run well with a 1875 Watt hair dryer and a 500 watt work light. The gauge displayed about 50% load. Bought for my 5th wheel next year with a 15000 BTU A/C unit. My previous two 2000 Yamaha gens in parallel couldn't always start the A/C in hot weather.

We bought this a month ago not expecting to need it for a while, but a early storm of surprising intensity took the power out for 3 days. I had already done preparations for a full operational test, but now it was Show Time for real! This unit started immediately and performed flawlessly in all aspects. The neighbors on either side didn't even know it was running it was so quiet. I get a real kick out of the remote keyfob start feature. Very glad to have purchased this!

Got it today. In process of filling oil dropped dipstick and it fell down under the floor panel. Because i’d added oil it made it way more difficut as tilting it would have lex to oil gushing out if the dipstick hole. Took a plumbing camera a lond of long curved hemostats and an hour of fiddling to retrieve it. The oil fill/change system is this thing’s achilles heel. Definitely not looking forward to the first oil change. Once that was done on to the propane. The regulator assembly is super big and a but clunky to have hanging off the bottle with its weight riding on the connection. Propane line is very short, necessitating keeping the bottle right next to the gennie. Operationally it was fine. Started right up, ran for 5 hours powering a big fan and an rv converter with occasional a/c unit power which is ultimately the reason for the purchase. And for that it appears it’ll do just fine. Will update when its got some hours on it of real world use. Thys far though it’s better than the pair of paralled Ryobi’s its replacing. They would often struggle just to light off the a/c unit, let alone anything else. While I cant fire up both the 13,500 and the 10,200 a/c’s (as least on propane) it does handle the big one woth biatloads of breathing room. Much quieter than the ryobi’s were as well.
