Great first impression

So far so good, the instructions to prep the generator with oil was easy. The generator started right up with the remote. Look for forward to using the generator this summer when we dry camp. The generator is very quiet, reason why we chose it and also it was a great price for a generator with all the bells and whistles.

Great features and dual fuel

A lot of times people buy too much generator power and end up burning fuel needlessly. Make sure you do the math to figure out what you absolutely need in terms of appliances and supplemental items when there's a power outage. The iGen4500DF hit all the sweet spot for power, data, and duration.

Good Value

I waited to right the review until I have been able to try it out. While I haven't been camping, I believe lack of use isn't good, so I do monthly run everything in my RV. Over the last three month I have used the generator to operate and warm up my RV. I bought it for all of it's features. Here is a list of things that I think would be helpful for those thinking about buying one. - Directions were easy to follow. - It is simple to change from gas to propane. - Instructions say start without a load, but it has a remote start. Still confused about this. - When cold I have had to push the start twice for it to start, but it starts with no problem with the electric start. - I tried to start it with the pull start. Only tried it a couple times and it didn't start. I think it would work but not a one or two pull cold start. I think this would tie back to how lone it takes the electric start to work. - The box it came in wasn't sturdy. There wasn't any damage to the unit but the box was not reusable. I believe these boxes were designed for transport by pallet not single shipment, something they should look at redesigning. - It is about 100lbs something to consider. - If you leave gas in it run it once a month for a least ½ hour. - It was able to run my AC and microware at the same time. - For RV'ers I have discovered that the “hot” water heater uses a lot of power, might consider using it propane mode While it's the first generator I have owned, it has met all my expectations and would purchase it again.

Purchased 3 Units--Good quality, quiet

Purchased 3 of these for a work project. Seems good (at least initially) and pretty quiet. Manual wasn't quite right (for example it had the USB and economy mode switch swapped on pix and diagrams). Also, positive and negative not labelled for parallel plugs. Good overall though.

This is the best of the best

To keep this short, I use this to power my travel travel AC and microwave being the biggest items. With the amazing remote start, from anywhere around your campsite, you start, run on propane, and use both micro and AC at the same time, which still gave 25% more power available. Love it runs on propane, and also has the remote start. Started first run, and has been flawless. Three trips to the wild so far.

perfect for camper

strong enough to run my camper's a/c off propane. i wont put gas in it so my carb will always be clean. weighs less than many smaller inverter generators. propane setup was easy, eco mode throttles up and down as per demand on LP. remote control worked out of box with no programming.

Works Great!

We bought this a week ago and it works great! Love the remote start and that we can use propane or gas! The expandable handle makes it easy to move it around. There are 2 handles on the the top that make it easier to lift. Fairly quite as far as generators go.

Generator

We bought this for our first RV trip and it came just in time. Set up was easy other than filling the oil which was a bit of a pain but not unlike other small engine products that I have. I filled it with gas and connected the propane and it started immediately and switched fuels without skipping a beat. Amazing! it was also as quiet as I had hoped. I plugged the RV in and started turning things on being mindful to not exceed 50% and next thing I knew I had everything on and it never went past 25%. This is a great unit.

The igen4500df just arrived yesterday.

I opened the box and everything was there and in perfect condition. I completed the setup in in about 10 minutes. I added oil, connected battery, connected to propane and using the remote it started right up. After running for a couple minutes I turned on the the efficiency mode switch and it idled down to quite purr. After 15 minutes I plugged in my 5th wheel and everything works great. So far everything is as advertised. I'm ordering the the high altitude carburetor kit as most of my camping is 4-6K. This is so much quieter than my old gen. Excellent right out of the box.

Great Features for the Money

I have only owned this generator for a few days, but have been researching this unit and competitors for some time. The dual-fuel capability is a real plus for me, as I plan to use this to run a travel trailer, and we always have propane on board. Initial setup was pretty painless, and it starts very easily now that we've got it running the first time. The motor runs very quietly, and the output easily powers the A/C and other accessories in my camper. The plastic trim around the control panel seems to have been damaged in shipping, but it doesn't affect the operation at all, and I'm sure that this product will see plenty of scrapes and impacts as we use it for many years. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase, and would make the same choice again if given the opportunity.
