Great remote start and get for a camper

We bought this generator because our camper didn't have an on board generator. It was a hassle having to wake up at hunting camp, go outside when its 20 degrees and start the old generator. Now we can remote start it from inside the comforter to keep the heater going. The fact that it has dual fuel is amazing. We go on 10+ camping trips a year. We sometimes forget to fuel up the generator, fill up a gas tank, or sometimes forget to fill up the propane tanks. Having the option to use either fuel in a huge bonus for us.

Multi functional

Recently received and like how quiet this generator is so far. Excited that we will no longer have to take multiple different fuels when camping. Filling the oil needs to be precise or it easily overflows into the bottom of the generator making it difficult to clean out.

Great features.

I bought the IGEN 5000DFC yesterday. I found this unit to provide lots of great features. The multi display is outstanding and provides full status of the unit while operating. The dual fuel option is really a great feature as well. A couple items that I found could be improved: 1) The manual is vague on the operation. Fails to say how to turn the unit on specifically & how to turn it off. I figured it out & its simple.by pushing the round start button to turn on & also to turn it off. 2) Read the manual fully before operating. Fortunately I did this. The unit ships without any fluids in place. Must service the engine oil before you start it. 3) Engine oil service port is small & difficult to get into if you have larger hands. Otherwise, This is a great unit. Quiet and delivers as expected.

Started right up

We bought this generator to run our RV while camping. It was delivered two days early and started up after the 3rd push start. You have to follow the directions about the oil. It is a beast and quiet considering how big it is. The push start and the option to use propane is great. We love that is has wheels and a bar to pull across the floor. Good buy!

Very happy with my choice so far

The 4500 DF has met or exceeded my expectations to this point. From initial setup to a flawless break in period. Now I'm ready to take it on the road. I ordered the high altitude kit but so far at 5500' I have not had a reason to install it. The duel fuel option is great.

IGen4500D:F Excellent engineering and features

I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this generator. The advantages of it being an inverter type (significantly better fuel economy, less engine wear likely, clean power) made it worth the price premium above straight AC generators. Consumer Reports rated it's little brother iGen2500 generator excellent in power delivery and power quality as well as very good in noise and ease of use. I found it with excellent documentation and easy to set up. Packaging was also excellent. Propane fuel setup was straight forward. Generator started up very quickly to smooth, quiet operation. Switching to Eco Mode, engine came to an idle smoothly, very quiet - enough to get Wife's praise for getting an electric start unit! After warming it up, plugged in a 1200 /1500 watt space heater to check out Eco response with varied load. It passed with flying colors! On board digital readout was quite accurate to heater advertised wattage consumption. Have not run the generator on gasoline thus far and do not plan to unless dire emergency exhausts propane supply. I have no reason to suspect gasoline would pose any problems should I need to switch to it. We are very happy with the IGen4500DF and will not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Bang for the Buck!

After much research I settled on the iGen4500DF. It had all the features I was looking for plus the bonus of remote start. The propane feature is great for the occasional power outage since gas does not store well. I have only ran the unit a bit over an hour doing the break-in but so far I am pleased. It runs very quiet, runs my AC unit on my cargo trailer/camper @ a bit over 25% load. The only thing I wish it had was a 12v out for charging may batteries. It does however have a trickle charge feature so your battery on the generator is always ready to go. I am pleased with my purchase and barring any catastrophic failure in the near future I would easily recommend. Can't wait to get out and use this this thing!

GREAT FEATURES AND PRICED REASONABLY

I JUST PURCHASED THIS UNIT BECAUSE YOU CAN RUN IT ON LP GAS OR GASOLINE. AFTER INITIAL START UP IN BOTH MODES IT PERFORMED WELL. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE, AND WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANY ONE LOOKING FOR A DUEL FUEL INVERTER GENERATOR, PLUS I FORGOT TO MENTION IT IS VERY QUIET WHEN RUNNING!

Affordable for the power and quiet

This was by far the most affordable dual fuel generator for the equivalent wattage and low dBs. I'm excited about taking it camping over Labor Day to run the air conditioner in my Shasta trailer! Also glad to have a backup when the power goes out at home. Thanks ERCOT!

Great features and power

Recently bought this and so far, I am not disappointed. Did a lot of research on dual fuel generators and what sold me was the dual fuel, power output, remote start, and reasonable size. This generator will ultimately pull double duty as a RV power source and also partial home backup power. For those wanting to remote the exhaust, this is very easy to do with how the exhaust is set up. No fabrication necessary. 1" silicone high temp hose and a host clamp is all you really need. Just be sure to put a CO2 sensor by it. Safety first! Some reviews talked about having to do some work to their generator's choke to make it run. I didn't have to do that. Put the oil in it and connected the battery. Generator started on the 2nd crank of the remote button. My only knock on this was that the manual says that the oil resevoir is 0.6 quarts. The oil they give you in the box also has 0.6 quarts. I dumped all the oil in it thinking that it would not overflow. wrong! Don't do what I did. Check it after you have put about 3/4 of the bottle in the unit. Save yourself the mess.
