iGen4500DF

Love this generator. Opened the box, followed easy “Quick Start Guide”. Connected propane and started quickly, connected to a load and ran for about one hour. Great machine. Can't wait go hit the road with the camper and new generator to boon dock.

Great so far

I was concerned about some shipping damage to the cardboard carton. Upon opening the box there was no discernible damage, so I finished unpacking, plugged in the battery, added included oil, and hooked up the propane regulator. It started with a touch of a button. I've since tried multiple loads, including a 1hp compressor, 1200 watt heat gun and numerous saws. So far everything has worked beautifully. I've also been running it for the last 7 hrs on gasoline. I've started it with the key fob, and the pull starter, everything has been as hoped for. Very pleased on this first day.

Propane for the win!

I had a gas generator, but the whole storing and keeping gasoline fresh was just a pain, so I never really had gas ready. But with this, there's none of that--and I already have propane for the bbq, and it doesn't go bad in a month--so it's always going to be ready!

Excellent generator

Received it yesterday. Easy to unpack, came with oil, a funnel, and easily followed instructions to prepare for use. Started immediately and is quiet!!! Goin through the break-in process. This unit is a dual fuel (gasoline/propane) with electric/remote start/stop. Remote works up to approximately 100 feet. Switching from one fuel to another is simply a turning of the fuel selector switch.

Initial startup

Initial start up after adding oil, connecting battery and adding fuel took a while and after no success with remote/push button start tried manual start which did not work until trouble shooting and choke manipulation. No issues after the initial start.

Great Insurance!

I purchased the iGen 4500DFc after many hours of research over a 2-week period. I went back and forth between inverters and larger open-frame models. In the end, I decided I don't really need to power a lot of items at once, but I want the capability to power more than just one or two small items. This one fell in between, and when combined with the dual fuel capability, CO sensor, and quiet operation, I knew it was the right choice for me at this time. Power outages are fairly infrequent and short duration in my area, so I hope to never need it. However, I will set it up and maintain it regularly so it will be reliable insurance if it is needed.

Best Bang for the Buck!

We live in an area where our power lines are located in the back of our yard. As you can imagine, we deal a lot with falling trees in the neighborhood. Our main focus was to have a back up for both our refrigerators in case an extended power outage should happen again. Thankfully, we have not have had to use in a real like situation. However, I have done a few test runs with gasoline to make sure it at least works in case of an emergency. It was able to keep the refrigerators going. It looks like we have plenty of wattage to handle other appliances if we needed to. My wife likes the idea of the invertor feature, as well as using the propane option. I will be sure to check back in once we get to see this generator put to the test.

Does the job!

Bought for use with our camper trailer. The user manual is detailed, easy to understand and covers everything. I started it up and plugged in the camper 30A plug. I turned on all the electrical devices one at a time to see how much power they used. Then turned a few on to see what I could run together. Looks like I'll be able to run almost everything I want except starting the AC with the microwave running. It is very quiet even with a heavy load. I like the dual fuel. I'm impressed so far. Time will tell.

Just as Described

We've just received our unit, but so far in testing it, it works just as described! Tested to see the difference in volume between eco and non eco. Eco is definitely a nice option. Love the remote start option. We think this will be a great addition to our camping needs and back up for power outages at our house!

Quiet

Unpacked it, and it started right up on LPG. Load tested it with a small space heater, and everything works as it should. Pretty quiet for such a large machine. Onboard storage for the included accessories would be helpful - I can see them being misplaced over time.
