Our toddler hasn't fallen since!

This product has kept our toddler safe on the bed while sleeping and hasn't fallen since we've installed this rail. From our research, reviews on this particular rail were high so we decided to give it a try and we're glad we made the right choice. Love it!

We purchased this item for my 2year old daughter for her birthday, she upgraded to a twin big girl bed. I do love it, my only dislike is the the way you slide it out and up. It can be slid under the bed, but the sliding out part is very annoying, for that reason we just leave it up. It does serve its purpose. I would reccommend this item.

I can't review the "hideaway" function of this because I installed this behind a bunk bed rail to add height over a tall mattress. I had put one of these together for a bed at my mom's house previously. I was impressed by the sturdiness so when I became in need of one I ordered the exact same one for my house. I will agree with previous posters about the pathetic instructions. Obviously the second time around setup was a breeze because I had done it before. The rail does seem very sturdy. I think it would keep ME from falling out of bed. =) It seemed to install okay on a loft bed with a bunky board under the mattress. The mattress must be at a slight tilt because the bars under the mattress lift one end. I didn't notice this when lying on the bed however.

Serves purpose, just inconvenient gap

It really does hold up against a child pushing or rolling against it. Very sturdy and can probably withstand a lot of weight/pressure. Only thing that really bothers me is that the bars that slide between the the mattress and box spring, separate the two about 2-3 inches from each other. So there is this giant gap in between the box spring and mattress. I am also using two of these, one for each side of the bed. Our mattress is so light I feel like it sort of slides around because it is not sitting down against the box spring. These serve the purpose they are intended for, and are easy to fold up and down. Pretty quiet too, I can sneak out of the bed and put this up without waking up my toddler.

Can't use for both sides of the bed

I bought 2 of these, 1 for each side of the bed. Unfortunately d/t the safety mechanism you can't safely use this on both sides. Tried to set this up for by daughters birthday gift (along with the new room) and turned out she want able to use her new bed d/t having to exchange the rails for something new. No where in the product description does it say for one side only

Great for younger children

I bought this bed rail for my 18 month old daughter. She started climbing out of the crib at 15 months and this was the next step. I had a hard time finding bed rails in any store expecially the extra long ones. This one pretty much covers the entire side of the bed minus about 6 inches at the head and foot. My daughter usually sleeps curled up right on it and it holds great. It is a huge pain to put together, but you only have to do that once.

not the greatest

I was looking for a rail to keep my toddler from rolling off her new junior bed. the pins you pull to release the rail are poorly designed and awkward for multiple daily use. Wish I would've shopped around a little more. If you plan on keeping it up all the time, then it's durable and well-made.

Nice, Sturdy Bed Rail

Purchased this bed rail for my five-year-old who has a twin bed. Overall the bed rail is very nice and sturdy. The instructions included were useless to me and I couldn't follow them. I put together in about 20 minutes going from the picture on the box and using my judgement. It went together fine and looks nice. I gave it four stars because of the unclear instructions. Better, clearer instructions need to be considered. Other then that, the bed railwould get five stars.

Not impressed

This thing is not as slick as it sounds - the locking mechanism wasn't the greatest. It's pretty touchy. Made of cheap aluminum and plastic if you don't lock it just right and triple check it, it comes down pretty easily. Don't waste your money buying online site unseen on stuff like this. Just go to the store.

Multiple Uses

I actually use this as a headboard. My bed isn't flush with the wall; it's angled in the corner and this works great as a cheap alternative to a headboard. I have large pillows that I prop up against it and it definitely gives the illusion of a headboard. Its even sturdy enough for me to lean on and read a book in bed. It's great!
