Works well, arrived quickly, fast setup

We bought multiples, for each of 3 sides of the bed. They arrived very quickly, and we were very pleased with the delivery. The website originally estimated 8 business days, but it arrived in 3. We learned that, because of the mechanism that slides under the mattress, you cannot criss-cross them butt-up against each other, say at the corners of a bed. So there is a 2' space between the rails at each bedpost. Still, this would be hard for a child to fall through and I don't think most people would care. FYI: Instructions say never to use for any child under 2 years old, and not to use in place of a crib, so if you follow the letter of the law, don't plan on using this for co-sleeping an infant. I believe they are required to state this for legal liability issues, in case of a baby squeezing between the rail and mattress. I find this extremely unlikely, since the rail fits very snugly against the mattress and is even hard to slip my hand between, but maybe it depends on the type of mattress. It fits a queen bed perfectly. The rail will cover all but 2 feet of the side of a queen bed, or will cover the entire foot of the bed. It is extremely easy to set up and install, as long as you read the directions. You might need a second person to lift up the mattress to slip the securing mechanism underneath. It is still easy to change and make the bed even with the bedrail installed. The rail is strong enough to keep an average-sized adult from falling off the bed. The cloth mesh is breathable and is not an eyesore.

This bed rail works perfectly--even on a king-sized bed! I scanned over the instructions, and it only took a few minutes to put together. It did require 2 people to actually put on the bed, but it was still relatively easy. Would definitely recommend!

Very tall

I purchased this item for my 2 year old grandson's new twin bed and it arrived in record time. The guard was easy to assemble and easy to install. I installed it on an 8" memory foam mattress and it ended up being much taller than I actually wanted it to be making the guard a formidable barrier. My grandson was afraid of it and it was hard to get him situated. The lowering hinge worked well and I just slide the guard under the mattress until he got comfortable in the new bed. It would probably work best on a taller mattress or even under the bed board/springs. All in all it was exactly what I thought I wanted.

Peace of mind during sleeptime!!

I ordered the the rails (I purchased 2 for each side of the bed) as an alternative to buying my baby a bed of his own. It serves it's purpose, keeps baby from falling. I have a sense of relief when sleeping at night, knowing that even though baby moves and scoots, he wont fall out of the bed. I put both rails up, give him some toys, and he is content and safe at the same time. I will say that they come out a bit far, so a bed close to the wall would be a problem. Other than that, I am pleased with my purchase!

I could have given it perfect star but..

I love it..it makes me feel comfortable that my baby is safe, no worries that she is going to fall.. The only con was the assembly...it's really hard for this item to assemble..you need to have someone with you esp if your bed is a king or queen size..

Okay, but a little light for the intended use

The rails went together easily, and the cover slid right in place, but I found the directions a little confusing and the frame a bit light. If a toddler were to lean heavily on it I don't think it could support them. That made me not recommend anyone to buy it. If it were a bit heavier, then I'd be good.

It's great in some ways, not great in other ways

The main reasons for buying this bedrail were that it sounded like it would work on a mattress that is quite deep...which it does great!! I also like that it is a long bedrail and covers most of the side of the bed. Putting it togther didn't take too long, but was a little confusing in the instructions. It's not too difficult, though. My biggest complaint is that since it can "hide" under the mattress when not in use, there is a really thick track that goes under the mattress and it's obviously not the width of the mattress (since it can fit up to a queen size bed), so it makes the mattress rest on it about two inches off the box spring on one side. This makes the mattress slanted a bit! (We have it on a twin sized mattress.) We use it on a mattress that is a "no flip" mattress, so it's more stiff on the bottom...maybe that's the issue. I'm not sure, but I'm really disappointed that it makes the sleeping surface uneven!!! We ALMOST returned it because of that. We've decided to let my toddler try it out and it doesn't seem to affect the way she sleeps, so we've decided to keep the rail. I just think the design is strange to have it do that. One other thing to note is that the track it slides onto doesn't work perfectly. You just have to mess with it a bit to get it to work, but it's clearly a quality control issue. It's not a big deal for us because we typically don't "hide" the bedrail under the mattress anyway.

Have to have box spring or foundation

I was hoping to use this on a day bed, on which I have only a mattress, as they day bed has springs to support the mattress. The way the rail is constructed, however, there is no way for me to attach it without mangling the mattress and having the rail slope in toward the bed. If you have a foundation or box spring to use with the mattress and this rail, it's probably fine. But don't try to use it without - it will just be frustrating to set up and never quite satisfactory.

Not so great

Item was sturdy but a royal pain in the but to assemble and one side of the rail was difficult to maneuver. One side continuously wouldn't release nor would it catch once lifted upright. Hate to report bad review, but this one didn't work for me:(---
