A huge improvement from the 900 series

I've owned the 900 series for several years. As noisy as it was, I still love it. Since separating from my EX, I decided to upgrade to this new version, and I love that it extremely quiet. However, when it docks and self-cleans. It sounds like a jet engine is going through the apartment for a few seconds. I'm always worried that the neighbor downstairs will come knock on my door wondering what is that noise she hears a few times a week. I moved from a house to an apartment, so you know how that feels sometimes. Other than that, I look forward to buying a much advance Roomba that I hope is a lot quieter when emptying the Roomba in a few years. Still one of the best inventions of our lifetime. Saves so much time in clean regardless of if you have pets or not.

The robot is very loud. Never completes cleaning

First of all, I am currently pregnant and my husband purchased the robot for me as a helper. However, newborns are sleeping like ALWAYS so basically I won't be able to use it AT ALL. Secondly, roomba NEVER completes cleaning without getting stuck. Overall dissatisfied. I regret that we paid so much for such a poor product.

Roomba J7

Our Roomba j7 is the on of best things we had bought for us in long time. We have it vacuuming every room. We have hardwood floors and some area rugs through out the house I have programmed our Roomba to vacuum every morning to start the day to clean the floors. We don't dust bunnies and pet hair flying around anymore which makes it a Win Win for us. It does a great Job!

Would definitely recommend

I have the J7+. Love it. Have had it for about two months. It does a great job. I have vinyl plank flooring and some carpeted floors. It works well on both. I do not have pets. Mapping is a breeze to do and the app is very user friendly. Would recommend.

Hesitant and Extremely Impressed

I signed up for the select program with hesitation; however after running multiple calculations and factoring in the amount I actually use my Roomba I made the decision and I couldn't be happier. I am a busy mom of 5 kids and I have had a Roomba 960 for years after getting new flooring in the house I decided on an upgrade and man am I impressed with the new technology especially of upgrading from an older version. The vacuuming itself is significantly quieter, the navigation is impressive compared to the other and if I forget to pickup I'm not terrified she will wreak havoc on my house. This model can navigate around the most cluttered areas impressively. I'm also excited and find useful the advanced mapping technology for targeting cleaning or avoided the cluttered playroom altogether. I've never known another brand of robotic vacuum; so I can't speak on that comparison but it is a huge upgrade from my previous Roomba. I feel at ease that I don't have to hear anymore errors from full dust bins and I pretty much just let her do her thing. The select program gives me a sense of comfort that I won't have any additional expenses other than my monthly payment. There is ONE CON; she sounds like a jet engine landing when she empties her bin. At first I was terrified, then I laughed, then I realized 15 seconds of noise is nothing compared to emptying that terrible dust bin! If you're on the fence do it!

Awesome Product

I have two labradors and this vacuum helps keep the floor clean. I schedule it to run every morning and it has reduced the number of times that I have to get out the regular vacuum. It does a good job of picking up hair out of carpet. Pretty good obstacle avoidance as it rarely gets stuck. The self emptying base does a great job of emptying the robot's little bin. Some heavier particles don't get sucked out though. You want the self emptying base because there is no way the bin in the robot would be able to hold everything it picks up on a cleaning run if you have pets.

Roomba plays music all night starts randomly

This new roomba I got is worst than the first. It randomly starts all night, playing it's charms to wake me up. I emailed for help and sent videos. They never responded. Then, on top of that, it will NOT clean in front of my bed or this random spot in the floor. I live in a studio apartment. It's. One. Room. How can that be this hard? I feel like this is worse than my first roomba that sucked up cat vomit. This one hasn't done that thankfully but it crashes into everything. Like it's scratched and cracked open in the front because it hit my walls THAT hard. I think the company just sends a worst replacement if they "help" you. This was so much money. I had the 600 series in 2015 and it was WONDERFUL. It did what it was supposed to do. I feel like the more advanced things get, the absolute worst problems they get too.

The i5+ ABSOLUTELY is a piece of junk. No technical support

I own almost every vintage of iRobot robots. I have been a customer for 20 years, having owned one of their first robots. This i5+ is a piece of junk. What concerns me most is the number of times I have called and the lack of support I have received. This episode now has gone on for over 5 weeks. Daily phone calls yield nothing. Calls to corporate yield nothing. At this point in time, there is literally nothing iRobot can do which will make amends for this fiasco .

So many awesome features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got the J9+ to replace our J7 we were using on our main floor of our home. We of course will keep the J7 and move it to our basement because why not have 2 roomba's when they work so great. I already knew how the mapping worked so it was simple enough to get the new roomba onto my app and start the process. I was pleasantly surprised when it only took about half the time as my other one did! I noticed the suction on the J9 is a lot better and it holds a charge quite a bit longer but I was most excited about the emptying station as my J7 did not have one. When I say that thing is convenient, OMG I mean it! I love that I don't have to empty something constantly. Overall I find this roomba to be the best one I've gotten so far and I can't wait to see what else they come up with in the years to come!!
