[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The roomba J9+ is an incredible vacuum. This vacuum is a high performing computer compared to a calculator. It feels light years ahead compared to a normal roomba. I've been a long time roomba customer as I have a golden retriever who sheds like crazy and my house has NEVER been this consistently clean. The vacuum is also extremely quiet. At one point I forgot that I had set it's schedule for 9am on a weekend and I didn't even know it was running until I got up to make coffee and it was doing is thing. The maps are very accurate and easy to work with. I spilled some dirt in my laundry room after tipping over one of my plants. I just sent my roomba over directly to the laundry and BAM spotless!! No need to take out my big vacuum. This product in comparison is light years in technology away from any other vacuum. The self emptying feature is also amazing. We have a pretty big house. It's first cleaning/mapping run took 8 hrs but boy the house was clean after that. The making features are A-MA-ZING too. After the robot's done cleaning your house it will let you know of any obstructions it identified and ask if they are permanent so they can avoid it in the future. In one room I have a large decorative mirror that rests on the floor. I used to always have my husband move the mirror so it wasn't hit by our old roomba. Now I can mark where I don't want the roomba to go. It's incredible it takes a wide path around any objects you mark as do not clean around. If your somebody who has vases or plants set for level this vacuum is a game changer. Honestly I know the price seems high but if you have dogs or cats who routinely shed, a large house, fragile items on the floor, or all of the above like me it is WORTH the price to get routinely clean floors and peace of mind that you're not going to come home to broken or damaged item All the while of having perfectly clean floors. This product is so distinctly different in Performance that i'm kicking myself for not getting it earlier. It's a game changer and worth the investment. It's truly not a mark up because it's pretty or fancier looking. No it is just THAT MUCH BETTER.

We use this Roomba J7 on hardwood floors. The mapping feature is very good. As we use the Roomba J7 more, the maps get more accurate. Setting up zones and naming zones allows the vacuum to go directly to the zone you prefer to clean instead of the total floor map. We are very happy after 1 month of usage.

I signed up for the select program with hesitation; however after running multiple calculations and factoring in the amount I actually use my Roomba I made the decision and I couldn't be happier. I am a busy mom of 5 kids and I have had a Roomba 960 for years after getting new flooring in the house I decided on an upgrade and man am I impressed with the new technology especially of upgrading from an older version. The vacuuming itself is significantly quieter, the navigation is impressive compared to the other and if I forget to pickup I'm not terrified she will wreak havoc on my house. This model can navigate around the most cluttered areas impressively. I'm also excited and find useful the advanced mapping technology for targeting cleaning or avoided the cluttered playroom altogether. I've never known another brand of robotic vacuum; so I can't speak on that comparison but it is a huge upgrade from my previous Roomba. I feel at ease that I don't have to hear anymore errors from full dust bins and I pretty much just let her do her thing. The select program gives me a sense of comfort that I won't have any additional expenses other than my monthly payment. There is ONE CON; she sounds like a jet engine landing when she empties her bin. At first I was terrified, then I laughed, then I realized 15 seconds of noise is nothing compared to emptying that terrible dust bin! If you're on the fence do it!

I have (2) I Robot Vacuums and a Mop. The J& is by far my favorite. It mages to clean my kids room avoiding all obstacles the kids leave in their rooms. I have noticed that sometimes the Robot does not follow the same mapping and bumps into door frames. Normally a rest solve that issue and it works great. The J7 is not perfect but I still love it and would buy it again.

I love "Stella" - the name of my iRobot. I love that I can clean even when I'm not home. She does an excellent job on my hard floors. The only downside is on my carpet. We have a corgi and she's a major shedder- Stella picks up a lot but doesn't get it all. On the hard floors however- excellent!

Always thought these machines were a gimmick and never wanted one. My wife really wanted one so, out of my love for her, I bought the J7. I deep cleaned the first time I ran the J7 because I wanted to prove to myself how pointless this robot was going to be. I mapped the house and then sent it on its first mission to prove me wrong.....and turns out....I was SOOOO WRONG!! The J7 picked up so much it's first time running I had to empty it's bin and it went back out to finish the poor job I had apparently done! I was literally shocked to see what it had picked up and it was very efficient on its route. I now run the J7 once a week and it always fills it's bin up and surprises me! My wife loves it and I think I might love it more! Thanks Roomba!

I use this vacuum to clean a 25 by 25 foot room. The floor is tile, with a .2 inch grout gap between tiles. The machine does not like to go over the gaps. It makes a thunking noise at every gap, and sometimes turns a bit. After a while it will get lost. This was remedied (mostly) by sticking a felt pad to the underside of the vacuum. The felt pad slides along the floor, barely touching. When the rear wheel hits a tile gap, the pad supports vacuum, so the constant thumping isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. With 2 dogs that shed a lot, the vacuum is used every day, and the vacuum itself needs to be cleaned weekly. Sometimes more often than that. Large clumps of fur will clog it on occasion. This vacuum would be fine on a smooth floor with no dogs.

Cleaning is not so much of o big chore anymore since I got the new IRobot Roomba j robot vacuum. This little robot is a breeze to set up-simply download the Robot Home App, follow the straightforward instructions to connect it to your home network, and create a mapping of your entire house, which takes about 90 minutes. Then, within the app, set up a cleaning schedule, and you're all set. Once everything is configured, it's off to work for you. The home docking station is where the magic happens: not only does it charge the robot, but it also empties its container of dirt from vacuuming the floor. While the robot is running its course, it's impressively quiet, thanks to its thoughtful design. However, when it's docked and cleaning out the dirt into the filter inside the docking station, it does get a bit louder. Our Roomba j7 is the on of best things we had bought for us in long time. We have it vacuuming every room. We have hardwood floors and some area rugs through out the house I have programmed our Roomba to vacuum every morning to start the day to clean the floors. We don't dust bunnies and pet hair flying around anymore which makes it a Win Win for us. It does a great Job!

This product is great when it is working I have 2 dogs who shed a lot and it has helped a ton. But now I'm constantly getting error 26 and 30 and for an $800 price tag I'm already having to replace a major part such as the cleaning module head after less than 6 months of use. I can't recommend this to someone since the maintenance is costly and the price tag is high. It works great when it's working.
